  • Red Sox have packed it up and Eovaldi has been on the IR most this season while the Jays are competing as a young core that has a chip on their shoulder and want to prove they can compete - they are a fastball hitting team and can definitely get on Eovaldi. I like the Jays and Over.

    My Pick: Toronto +143 & Over 10.5

Red Sox are actually at decent value for this game. Toronto is giving their young guys playing time while the Red Sox are still being pesky and fighting for a long shot at the play offs. I dont think they make the play offs but they have better pieces who are still playing to win. Red Sox ML is the play here

    My Pick: Boston -153

    Boston Red Sox
(71% consensus). The Boston Red Sox knew it was only a matter of time before the sand in the hourglass ran out on their hopes of winning their fourth consecutive American League East title, and it might not be much longer before their postseason aspirations fade away as well. The Red Sox attempt to end a three-game losing streak when they visit the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday for the opener of their three-game series... http://bit.ly/2J4p58z

Over the Monster: Red Sox at Blue Jays lineup: Fleeing the country, eh?

Matt got out late so I'm doing this last-minute and don't have much information to convey, which is good given how recently I've gotten it wrong. My thoughts for the day are here. Here are the lineups for tonight's 7 o'clock game in Toronto.

Batter's Box Interactive Magazine: Boston at Toronto, 10-12 Sep.

Well, at least it's not a first place team. It's just the defending champs.

The title defense hasn't gone too well, and team president Dave Dombrowski has just walked the plank after three first place finishes and a World Series title. That's a high bar, indeed, although I still think the gold standard would be the Yankees firing their manager after losing the seventh game of the World Series. Twice. In five years.

The Red Sox are leaking all kinds of stories about how the Dombrowski regime had become thoroughly dysfunctional. I think they were just afraid he was going to give Mookie Betts $500 million dollars next week.
