All logical thinking would send you scrambling to the Rockies with Leake and Gray on the mound. I believe Leake with white knuckles and gritted teeth holds on today. Arizona is battling to stay close to the playoff picture and I take them here today.

    My Pick: Arizona -110

Jon Gray has been replaced by Melville who's a call up. So this changes everything and i hope you all didn't lock in your rockie bets as action. Always check listed pitchers on your bet

Im all over the Rockies here at this value. Gray has been very solid the past few starts including a no-run outing at Coors. Leake has given up 12 ER his past 2 starts, moving in the wrong direction. I will take the Rockies bats against Leake to win straight up.

    My Pick: Colorado -109 50%

hopefully you didn't lockin your bet as an action play because gray was scratched

Got to like the Rockies to pick up a win with their ace Jon Gray on the mound, he is coming off one of his best outings of the season, going scattering eight across eight scoreless innings, and hes posted a 3.61 ERA throughout the entire season. Given that, in addition to the fact that Arizona really struggles against righties (.244 team BA), the Rockies -110 is a rock-solid pick this afternoon.

    My Pick: Colorado -109

Purple Row: Diamondbacks 8, Rockies 7: Another loss in the desert

The Colorado Rockies once again saw a game get ugly once it was turned over to the bullpen on Tuesday night. They battled back and got within a run in the ninth inning, but ultimately fell short by a final score of 8-7.

Unfortunately he left with an injury in the sixth inning of this game, but I thought there were some promising signs in this outing. Freeland struggled early, allowing three runs and giving up his 25th (!) home run of the season. But he bounced back after that and kept the Rockies in the game.

azcentral.com: Arizona Diamondbacks hold off Colorado Rockies to grab three-game winning streak

Pinch-hitter Jake Lamb had a tiebreaking two-run single in the sixth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks held on to beat the Colorado Rockies 8-7 Tuesday night.

The Diamondbacks scored five runs in the sixth off Colorado starter Kyle Freeland (3-11) and reliever Bryan Shaw. Three batters after Lamb's hit, Eduardo Escobar had a two-run triple off Shaw.

Escobar became the third player in Diamondbacks history with 20-plus doubles, 20 or more home runs and at least 10 triples in a season, joining Steve Finley (1999 and 2003) and Stephen Drew (2008). He also became the first National League switch-hitter with 100 RBIs since Chase Headley accomplished the feat with the San Diego Padres in 2012.
