  • We should see a ton of K's in this one tonight. I also think we see another Cleveland win like we did last night. The Red Sox are really struggling right now and their bullpen has been the main painpoint (like last night). The Sox have won just five of their last 18 meetings on the road in Progressive Field and they are just 1-4 in their last five meetings against the Indians overall. Clevinger is 6-0 with a 1.87 ERA in his last seven starts overall. If there is a pitchers duel and the starters wash each other, then the clear pick is on the Cleveland bullpen. Indians ML

Once again the Vegas oddsmakers giving Chris Sale too much respect. The Indians are red hot and have the best record in baseball since June. Boston is riding the struggle bus and is in serious danger of missing the playoffs. Sale has beautiful advanced stats but for whatever reason cant seem to win whereas Clevinger has been brilliant this season and the Indians win when he takes the hill.

Let's Go Tribe: Indians rally but fall to Red Sox in extra innings

    MLB

The Cleveland Indians erased a 6-1 deficit -- tagging Chris Sale for five runs before plating the game-tying run in the ninth inning -- but in the end the Tribe came up short against the Boston Red Sox, 7-6, in extra innings. Jackie Bradley Jr. deposited a meatball of a changeup into the right field seats in the tenth inning to regain the lead for good.

Sale was nearly untouchable for the first five innings of the game, surrendering a solo home run to Carlos Santana in the fourth and notching double-digit strikeouts. Trailing 6-1, the Indians started chipping away in the sixth inning, starting with a two-run shot by Franmil Reyes.

Over the Monster: Red Sox 7, Indians 6: Red Sox win a bizarre game

    MLB

What a wild game. Chris Sale was great, and then he wasn't. He also became the fastest player (by innings) to 2000 strikeouts. Rafael Devers made some bad mistakes in the field and on the bases. He also went 6-6 with four doubles. Through it all, after the Red Sox opened an early lead the Indians kept crawling back until they tied it against Brandon Workman in the ninth. A questionable stolen base attempt foiled their chance to walk it off there, and then Jackie Bradley Jr. gave Boston their lead back in the tenth. Then, to top it all off, Andrew Cashner got the save.
