Luis Castillo has been rolling and has a strike out rate of almost 30% right now. In his last game against the cards he struck out 8 and last year he had two games in double digit strike outs against the cards. On paper this doesn't look great with only three high strike out batters but Mikolas isn't added into that mix so technically you have four. I like taking a strike out prop the day after both teams smashed because mentally these guys should be swinging for the fences and that should boost up castillos rate. Here's the thing too, UK sites have already juiced his over to -155 and a lot of sites are hanging -115 on his over so I really this value now before everyone catches up. Over 7.5 strike outs

I went 7-1 yesterday. One of the best MLB days this Summer. Let's see if I can keep it going with this one. I'm taking the Reds on the First 5 at -139. Castillo has a 1.69 ERA at home and the Cards rank 27th in both OPS vs RHP and F5 runs since June 27. STL hitters have a combined .194 AVG against him in 139 ABs. Mikolas has a 7.40 ERA on the road and has allowed 7 ERs in two starts vs CIN this season. FIRST 5 BET So when I pick Cincy here on the side - that's all I am implying. We all know from recent history what can happen when a bad bullpen takes the ball.$100 Cincinnati -131

Castillo is finally having a break out year that many thought he would have had a few seasons ago. He's heading into this game in great form and hasn't giving up more than 3 run with one exception (where he gave up 4 in one game) in his 8 starts. Last time he faced the Cards he gave up 1 earned in 6 innings and struck out 8. The walks are always the issue but he's been doing better with that and only gave up 3,1, and 3 in his last three starts. Mikolas has faced the Reds twice and gave up 4 and 3 in those starts going 5 innings in both of them. I think 9.5 is just too high and I'm going to ride the under here. Don't let last night fool you where these teams put up 20 runs and remember the rockies/giants played a double header where game one had 21 runs and game two had 3. Pitching is everything$100 Under 9.5

Cincinnati Reds (68% consensus). A seven-run lead after five innings should have been enough for the Cincinnati Reds to get back on track Friday, although overcoming deficits hasn't been much of a problem for the St. Louis Cardinals recently. The Cardinals eye a fourth straight victory and look to improve to 7-2 since the All-Star break Saturday when they play the third of four games in Cincinnati... http://bit.ly/2GhdbL9

Redleg Nation: Reds Recap: 7-0 becomes a 12-11 loss to the Cardinals
I really wanted to just copy and paste the Endless Screaming tweet in each one of these sections, because seriously this game sucked the absolute life out of all of us, right? But Ryan Lavarnway deserves to have his night written about and praised. In his first game in the Major Leagues this season - just signed out of Triple-A two days ago - he hit two home runs, doubled, walked, and he drove in six runs. He might go down as the best Cincinnati Reds hitter of all time if we're all going to be honest with ourselves.
Red Reporter: Reds blow 7 run lead, lose to Cardinals 12-11
The Cincinnati Reds just took a 7-0 lead against the St. Louis Cardinals, and did so on the offensive prowess of...Tyler Mahle and Ryan Lavarnway?Yep, you read that right. While Nick Senzel and Derek Dietrich are banged up alongside the IL'd trio of Tucker Barnhart, Curt Casali, and Kyle Farmer, it was Lavarnway who stepped up large in his Reds debut, smacking a double and a pair of dingers while driving in 6 runs on the evening, something no player in Reds history has ever done in their debut since at least 1920.
Cincinnati.com: Cincinnati Reds collapse in 6th inning, cough up 7-run lead in loss to St. Louis Cardinals
David Bell talks about the Reds' 12-11 loss to the Cardinals after they had a 7-run lead in the 6th inning and Ryan Lavarnway's big debut. Bobby Nightengale, Cincinnati EnquirerThirty-two minutes after the Cincinnati Reds entered the sixth inning with a seven-run lead against the St. Louis Cardinals, their bleak playoff hopes were dealt a potential knockout blow.
The Cardinals sent 13 batters to the plate against three Reds pitchers. There were eight hits, one walk, one error and one massive gut-punch when outfielder Jose Martinez hit a go-ahead, three-run homer over the center-field wall to complete a 10-run inning.
