Giolito is the most profitable pitcher in MLB. You'd be up $954 on $100 if you bet on the Sox when he pitches this season. Sox bullpen has been 7th best in the majors since May 1st while Red Sox are 18th at home in that timespan. White Sox handle Lefties better than Righties. I'll take Chi Sox as my Dog of the Day.

    My Pick: Chicago +155 80%

I want to take Giolito in this spot but it's a little scary to do so. He's been having a break out year and he's mowed down some pretty solid lineups so far. Rodriguez on the other hand is a complete reverse splits pitcher and this white sox team doesn't have any lefties that worry me. I can't go with the white sox because I'm worried about run support but I also worry about taking the Red sox (especially at this price) because htey are facing a leading CY Young candidate. So after thinking about it more, I'll ride the under because I'm a fan of both these pitchers in this spot. I like the under 4.5 first five the most because I can't trust the white sox pen in this spot. The thing that I love about these pitchers is they are both high strike out guys and that just helps them get out of trouble if they find themselves in it.

    My Pick: Under 9 50%

Money is still coming in on Boston. I don't get this line at all. Feels trappy af 50%

Giolito's FIP is a full point higher than his ERA.. there's gonna be regression, it's no surprise.. don't bet the game.. better to just layoff it.. that's what I'm doing honestly

Giolito is 10-2 on the year and has been a ATM machine for bettors.

    • @TheSkipper
      • 4w

You're right..10-2 record.. coming off a loss(who woulda thought???).. 10-2 means he'll never lose a game again.. so forget advanced metrics everyone and disregard the fact that Betts Benintendi and Martinez have all hit him VERY well(the Red Sox best hitters), and just go ahead n bet the mortgage on that 10-2 record which means the White Sox will absolutely not lose this game.. a pitcher's record should NEVER dictate your bets.. when he faced Boston 2 months ago the Red Sox were up after the First 5 innings, the white Sox only won that game kuz off late clutch hitting by their batter's offthat horrible red Sox bullpen, not because of Giolito, otherwise they would've lost

Remember last game against the Cubs when Giolito was getting plus money just like he is tonight? What was the outcome of that game.... better to lay off the game in my opinion rather than to potentially get caught in that public underdog trap like a lot of people did in his last game.. just my opinion though

    • @TheSkipper
      • 4w

White Sox in Giolito starts are 11-3 (pretty good right?) ... Red Sox in Rodriguez starts are 11-4 (pretty good also.......)

You guys get to sweat this one out now.. hopefully it comes thru for ya

  • @CoryWatts • 4w

I cant fathom why Lucas Giolito is at +150 odds. He has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball and is going up against a Red Sox team that looked outmatched by the Blue Jays at home in their last series. They got lucky they didnt get swept. While Erod has been pretty decent for the Sox, he does give up a lot of runs. This isnt good when going against one of the better ERA pitchers in baseball. Take the CWS before the line moves

    My Pick: Chicago +157 60%

Giolito's FIP is a full point higher than his ERA.. there's gonna be regression.. don't bet solely based off of ERA.. look at the advanced metrics.. not saying he's not a great pitcher kuz he is but I'm not surprised that the Red Sox are favored here.. even with Giolito on the mound

    • @TheSkipper
      • 4w

He's got a low ground ball rate also.. which is not good and could end up hurting him, especially against the first 3 batters in red Sox lineup.. i like the white Sox team as a whole though.. laying off this game as i can make a case for both sides

    • @TheSkipper
      • 4w

Giolito was a plus money dog in his last game against the Cubs also, right? What happened in that game??.. many people got caught in the public dog trap.. not me and i won't again tonight.. I'd rather layoff it

Over the Monster: Red Sox 6, White Sox 5: Marco Hernandez walks it off

    MLB

The Red Sox needed something to spark some momentum ahead of their overseas trip across the pond to London. This series against the White Sox was their last chance to do just that, and they got off to a good start on Monday. Boston was trailing for a lot of this game, coming back to tie multiple times but failing to jump out in front. Eduardo Nunez was able to tie the game a couple of times with big swings, and then in the ninth they loaded the bases in front of Marco Hernandez.
