The only reason I'm going with Philly today is Eflin and that really not saying a lot. Eflin of late has been as bad as the Phillies but I do believe he can control New York long enough for the bullpen to save him. Philadelphia has lost 7 straight and being at home against a New York team that gets anemic on the road is their best shot of snapping this right now.

    My Pick: Philadelphia -127 & Under 10

I really like the Phillies in this spot as well as the over. Both these pitchers have their moments but when you break down Eflin, he has major issues with lefties and his wOBA is 90 points higher and his ISO is an absurd 140 points higher (more than doubled compared to righties). But the good news for Eflin is the Mets only have conforto and a shell of Robison Cano, and Jeff McNiell in the projected lineup. On the other side Matz has a high ISO and the phillies have a lot of high iso hitters. I like how this game lines up for Eflin as long as he can avoid damage to the front end of the lineup he should sail through the back. I still the think the mets put up some runs but I have a feeling the Phillies could put up a ton in this spot so I'll take two seperate bets with the phillies winning and the over since I think the mets will still put a few of runs themself

    My Pick: Philadelphia -121 & Over 10 50%

Both Matz and Eflin have been struggling. The Mets havent been as good offensively and Philly has been in a tailspin of late but Eflin is their most consistent pitcher at this point of the season. There is the potential for regression for both guys on the mound as Matz has a 4.99 FIP ERA while Eflin stands at 4.01: both are more than half a run over their current mark. Given the Phillies are in desperate need of a win and Eflin has been statistically better than Matz, I like Philly at home on the low line.

    My Pick: Philadelphia -122 50%

No way I am trusting the Phillies in this spot. Matz hasnt been his best against the Phillies especially on the road but I think he will limit the struggling Phillies and keep them in this game. I will also look for Pete Alonso to keep torching the ball. The Mets are the more complete team at the moment and are getting healthier as the summer continues. Take Matz and the Mets here

CBS Philly: Phillies Explode For 13 Runs Vs. Mets To Snap 7-Game Losing Skid

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Maikel Franco hit a go-ahead two-run homer, Rhys Hoskins, Jean Segura and Jay Bruce also went deep and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the New York Mets 13-7 Monday night, snapping a seven-game losing streak.

Zach Eflin (7-7) struggled through five innings, allowing six runs and 11 hits but got a rare outburst from his offense. The Phillies scored only 15 runs total during their losing streak.

Todd Frazier, Wilson Ramos, Michael Conforto and Dominic Smith each hit solo homers for the Mets.

Steven Matz (5-6) got roughed up again in Philadelphia. The lefty gave up seven runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Phillies Nation: With two managers under fire, Phillies welcome Mets to town

Gabe Kapler will manage the Philadelphia Phillies Monday, while Mickey Callaway will do so for the New York Mets. But it would be harder to find two managers with warmer seats in the sport. It's not hyperbole to suggest that the outcome of this week's four-game series between the two teams could go a long way in determining the job security of the two second-year skippers.

The Phillies, who have lost seven straight, were just swept by the lowly Miami Marlins. Kapler's squad is 6-14 in June, and after Sunday's loss, they're only one game above .

The Good Phight: Disarray, meet disarray: Phillies vs. Mets series preview

Even an optimist like myself would have a tough time saying something positive about the Phillies right now. That's what a seven game losing streak - which includes a sweep at the hands of the lowly Marlins - will do to you. The only good news is that they're about to face a team which is going through some drama of its own.

Record: 37-41, Fourth place in National League East

Back in April, when people thought this might be a good season for the Phillies, they visited Citi Field and lost two out of three.
