Sampson may not be as good as he was made out to be in that stretch where he pitched a shut out, but he some how pitches gems and I have no idea how. He gives up an hard hit rate of 47.1% and has a low ground ball rate. But i have a gut feeling he comes through in this one and the white sox don't blow him up today. Nova is in the same boat and everything in this game screams over but I'm going opposite because it's sunday and crazy shit happens for some reason. I'll take the under because 12 is a high ass number and I'm aware it's a summer game in texas

    My Pick: Under 12 50%

I don't think Texas has cleared it's head yet and are still suspect to an upset. I don't like what Sampson has done in his last couple games but I still think he's the more reliable out of him and Nova.

    My Pick: Texas -125 & Under 12

  • The UNDER has cashed in 4 of Chicagos last 5, 4 of the White Sox last 5 versus a right-hander and 6 of Novas last 7 starts on the road for the Chisox. Sampson has not been good of late but he's one of those guys that I think is better than their ERA. I like Chicago White Sox win, but the best play is UNDER 11.5.

    My Pick: Under 11.5

Nova gave up a first-pitch leadoff home run to Kyle Schwarber in Tuesdays game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, but that run was the only one he allowed over five-plus innings. Novas ERA still checks in north of 6.00, at 6.01. Sampson on the other hand comes in with a 10.13 ERA in his last two starts. Prior to that, he was 5-0 with a 1.99 ERA in his five previous outings. I like Sampson in this spot with the better offense behind him, I'll lay the juice with the Rangers here.

    My Pick: Texas -131 50%

Lone Star Ball: 42-36 - Texas seals suddenly stressful series win over White Sox in finale

The Texas Rangers lost unquestionably their best player and AL MVP candidate Joey Gallo on the first day of June. Two days later, they had a day off following an Adrian Sampson 11 strikeout performance to take a series from the Kansas City Royals.

That day off would be Texas' last until tomorrow as the Rangers played 21 games in the last 20 days thanks to a doubleheader against the A's that was crammed in an already exhausting summer schedule.

The thing is, this stretch should have sunk the Rangers.

Lone Star Ball: 41-36 - Rangers rally from rough start for 6-5 win over White Sox

Just when I decided maybe I could like Lance Lynn, he went out and allowed four runs in the first inning. So then I went back to hating him forever and he and the Rangers allowed just one run the rest of the way.

Meanwhile, the offense scored three runs in the bottom of the first and eventually took a lead they would not relinquish in the bottom of the sixth.

Player of the Game: Nomar Mazara has had hot streaks before but every time he goes on one of these bomb benders you hope against hope that he's finally realized that just launching baseballs into the sky will go a long way to making him the steady star the Rangers have always thought he would become.

Dallas Morning News: 'He's not going to quit': After giving up four runs in the first, Lance Lynn battles back to lead Rangers to win vs. White Sox

ARLINGTON -- Despite the bases loaded, first-inning situation, Rangers manager Chris Woodward said he felt like Lance Lynn was going to escape.

Lynn was one strike away, too, but Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson sent a fly ball off the bottom of the wall in right centerfield, clearing the bases and giving the White Sox an early 3-0 lead. A double from Yolmer Sanchez made it a 4-0 hole for the Rangers.

That fourth earned run guaranteed that Lynn's streak of eight-consecutive quality starts would end, no matter what happened the rest of Saturday's game. Some pitchers in Lynn's shoes might've folded right then and there, Woodward said.
