Matz is a good pitcher but he has his moments and this braves team absolutly mashes south paws. Matz has a .202 ISO which is really high and this isn't the team you want to give up power too. I love Acuna, Swanson, and Donaldson here and I think they will get to matz. Then you have to factor in Austin Riley who has been MASHING south paws and has an iso of .593 so far this season. ON the other side Fried has been having a decent season despite the high ERA but I think he comes through if he can limit his damage to the hot Peter Alsonso. I think he will be aware of this and just pitch around him and make the rest of the mets try to beat him and I like this braves line50%

Atlanta Braves (71% consensus). Maybe the New York Mets should consider having a players-only meeting prior to Wednesdays road series finale at the Atlanta Braves, because they played one of their best games in weeks after meeting behind closed doors Tuesday afternoon. First baseman Pete Alonso doubled twice and homered en route to a four-hit, three-RBI performance and Jacob deGrom stopped the bleeding with 10 strikeouts in a 10-2 victory, just the fifth win for the Mets in their past 17 road contests... http://bit.ly/2E6ICS7

CBS: Road Woes For Matz Continue, Mets Drop Series To Braves
ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves finished an 8-2 homestand with another convincing victory.
Freddie Freeman loved nearly every minute of it.
"It's pretty much the best you can possibly do, really," the slugger said. "We won every series, and that's ultimately the goal."
Josh Donaldson hit a tie-breaking, two-run homer in the sixth inning, Freeman launched an early two-run shot and the Braves beat the New York Mets 7-2 on Wednesday night.
The NL East leaders are 14-4 in June, best in the majors. They top the big leagues in runs, homers and RBIs this month and have outscored opponents 43-12 in going 5-0 in rubber games at home this season.
Talking Chop: Donaldson, Freeman help Braves beat Mets 7-2
The Braves beat the Mets 7-2 as the offense came alive late in a game where the Braves' defense shined.
While the Mets got on the board first in the top of the first, Freddie Freeman made sure that did not last long, as he connected for his 21st home run of the season to make the score 2-1. The game would remain quiet until the top of the fourth, when Wilson Ramos and Amed Rosario both doubled to tie the score 2-2.
The Mets would again threaten in the top of the sixth.
Yahoo! Sports: Following team meeting, Mets top the Braves behind Jacob deGrom's brilliance and Pete Alonso's power
ATLANTA -The Mets may want to schedule more team meetings -or at least make sure they are lined up on days when Jacob deGrom pitches.
Following a team meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Mets steamrolled the Braves, 10-2, in the middle game of this three-game set at SunTrust Park.
The meeting followed an embarrassing 12-3 loss in the series opener, and the Mets appeared galvanized Wednesday with deGrom throwing 8.1 brilliant innings of two-run ball, and Pete Alonso going 4 for 4 while hitting his 24th homer.
The Mets (35-38) will try Wednesday to win their first road series since April 1-3.
Talking Chop: Braves, Fried Hope Bats Awaken Against Mets, Matz
Arguably the best team in baseball in the month of June, the Braves looked human last night. One of, if not the, best pitchers in baseball was on his game, Julio Teheran struggled, and the expected outcome occurred. However, this is where it gets exciting. The Atlanta Braves' responses to losses since the beginning of May is what makes this team so special.
The Braves have suffered consecutive losses only three times since the start of May. And the amazing thing is that Atlanta has not played as a team clicking on all cylinders at the same time yet.
Fansided: Atlanta Braves get a taste of their own medicine in loss to Mets on Tuesday night
The Atlanta Braves have been on an absolute tear lately and have beaten down anyone in their path. Unfortunately, there was bound to be a rough game in there somewhere.
Jacob deGrom has always been a tough customer for the Atlanta Braves offense.
The Braves had no issue with deGrom back in April when they scored 3 runs and coaxed 4 walks against the 2018 Cy Young award winner.
However, that was not the case this time around as deGrom asserted his will against the Braves Tuesday night.
Jacob deGrom carries a 1.
NY Times: With a Lift From Jacob deGrom, the Mets Trounce the Braves
Brett Davis/USA Today Sports, via Reuters
ATLANTA -- Jacob deGrom took a shutout into the ninth inning, Pete Alonso homered to highlight the first four-hit game of his young career, and the Mets routed the first-place Atlanta Braves 10-2 on Tuesday night.
Bouncing back from an ugly 12-3 loss in the series opener, the Mets pounded Braves starter Julio Teheran for six runs over four innings and cruised to a victory that eased some of the tension from a disappointing season.
DeGrom (4-6) dominated a potent Braves lineup that powered the team to 10 wins in its previous 11 games.
Talking Chop: Braves largely baffled by deGrom, drop 10-2 decision to Mets
After another blowout victory on Monday, the Atlanta Braves entered Tuesday's match-up with the New York Mets riding high on the strength of 10 wins in 11 games. In short order, however, it was clear that game two of the three-game set wasn't going according to plan and, in the end, the Braves suffered a 10-2 loss at the hands of Jacob deGrom and the Mets.
Julio Teheran, on the mound for Atlanta, managed to navigate the first two innings of the night in scoreless fashion but trouble arrived in the third. The veteran right-hander retired only one of the first seven batters in the inning, allowing three doubles and two singles, and the resulting damage was a 4-0 lead for New York.
