Sherzer is listed for the nationals incase you were wondering where these odds came from. Arrieta has been struggling as of late and has a ERA of 6.75 his last two games with a SIERA right there with it. He's been getting mashed by lefties and the Nats should have a few in their lineup today. Also, we need to be worried about the rain. Washington is the worst because they will postpone a game with any storm with in 100 miles it feels like. Sherzer broke his nose in batting practice but he's freaking max sherzer! Of course he's going to pitch. I like two plays, I'll take the nats first five because of arrietas recent form and I always trust in max, and I'll take the under 5 first five. I know sherzer can give up a run here and there but I'm not sure that the nats just rake it in on arrieta either because we all know the run support the Nats give sherzer. I know that's not a real stat but it's very real and I don't trust the Nationals pen.

    My Pick: Washington -195 & Under 8.5 50%

(56% consensus). Mother Nature has done the Washington Nationals no favors over the last two days, but a rare break in the inclement weather on Tuesday unfortunately provided the opportunity for ace pitcher Max Scherzer to sustain a broken nose during a bunting drill. The Nationals aim to rebound from that setback as they attempt to salvage part of their series against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies with a doubleheader on Wednesday... http://bit.ly/2E6GXfj

CBS Philly: Slumping Phillies Drop Game 1 Of Doubleheader To Nationals, 6-2

    MLB

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Patrick Corbin struck out eight over seven strong innings and the Washington Nationals defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 Wednesday to begin a day-night doubleheader.

This was the belated series opener after the teams were rained out Monday and Tuesday. Washington won for the 15th time in 22 games while the Phillies have lost six of eight.

Corbin (6-5) was originally set to start Monday and then pushed back twice by the postponements. But he was sharp against the Phillies, at one point striking out seven of nine batters. He scattered four hits and three walks while ending a personal three-game losing streak.

Federal Baseball: Washington Nationals 6-2 over Philadelphia Phillies: Patrick Corbin bounces back from rough outings with impressive start

    MLB

After back-to-back rainouts in the nation's capital, Washington's Nationals and Philadelphia's Phillies finally played baseball today. Patrick Corbin bounced back from three rough outings with seven strong innings on the mound in which he gave up a one run on four hits, and Juan Soto (2 for 3, 1 BB, 2 R, RBI single), Gerardo Parra (2 for 4, RBI double, HR), and Brian Dozier (2 for 4, RBI 2B, 2-run HR), all drove in runs in what ended up a 6-2 win.

Corbin vs the Phillies: In three straight losses following his complete game shutout of the Miami Marlins, Patrick Corbin was (0-3) with an 11.
