Teheran will show tonight why he has a 2.92 ERA. He manages games well from on the mound. he is not dominant but he is consistent and has control. Braves win at home.

I'll take the First 5 UNDER 4.5 Runs at -115 for this one. Teheran hasn't allowed more than 2 ER's in a start since April. He's been great against the Mets. They only have a .191 combined batting average against them. DeGrom is not old news and he's been great as of late. The Under hits on the F5 in about 2/3's of deGrom

I gotta go with the Braves here. Jacob deGrom has great numbers against the Braves in his career, but he has been a shade of his former self and is facing an Atlanta offense that is absolutely on fire at the moment. They have averaged 9.11 rpg over their last nine games. While I dont see them scoring 9 I do like them to get to deGrom. The Mets are 14-24 on the road and 0-5 in deGroms last five road starts. take the Braves here60%

The braves have been hot yet they are home dogs. I get people thinking there is a lot of value on the braves but lets dig a little deeper into tonights pitchers. First thing that stuck out to me is the face Julio has a ERA just under three. I found this hard to believe because i've been following this guy since he was called up and that just doesn't seem like the Julio I know. Well his advance metrics tell us that 2.92 ERA is not sustainable and he's been on the better side of luck because his SIERA is a 5. His walk rate is 11% which is high and this is a guy who is regulary at 70 pitches after three or four innings because he's all over the place. I see a lot of regression coming his way and I see why the mets have moved as much as they have. Degrom on the other hand has a lot of things going for him and he's on the bad side of luck because he can't control his run support. I have a feeling Julio is going to have his blow up game today and I like the Mets F5 a lot today because I don't want it coming down to bullpens

Since a bad start mid-May, deGrom has been cruising along well, with a total of eight earned runs across his last five starts. As for Teheran, he hasnt given up more than one earned run in any of his last eight starts and will provide a great counterpoint here. Im going with the better offense and the better pitcher at home - Braves +105 in a low-scoring game.

Atlanta Braves (63% consensus). Ozzie Albies was an All-Star last season despite pronounced struggles against right-handed pitching, but the Atlanta Braves' switch-hitting second baseman is showing why he is one of the top stars for the NL East leaders entering Tuesdays home game against the New York Mets. Albies, who hit .231 against right-handers last season, went 3-for-5 in Mondays 12-3 victory to lift his average from the left side to .262, helping Atlanta win for the 10th time in 11 games... http://bit.ly/2GhFnNX

CBS: DeGrom, Alonso Lead Mets To 10-2 Rout Of Braves
ATLANTA (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The Mets needed a win Tuesday night. They needed their ace Jacob deGrom to carry them and avoid their disastrous bullpen. They got both of those things with lots of help from their star rookie Pete Alonso.
DeGrom took a shutout into the ninth inning, Alonso homered to highlight the first four-hit game of his young career, and New York routed the first-place Atlanta Braves 10-2.
Bouncing back from an ugly 12-3 loss in the series opener, the Mets pounded Braves starter Julio Teheran for six runs over four innings and cruised to a victory that eased some of the tension from a disappointing season.
Talking Chop: Braves stick with same lineup for game two versus Mets
As Brad noted in the preview, the Braves have a tough matchup tonight as they take on reigning Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom. The right-hander got to see in-person just how lethal this iteration of the Atlanta lineup can be, and will try to navigate it better than the contingent of Mets pitchers who were humbled by the Braves bats a night ago.
Here is the Mets lineup:
DailyRoto Lineup Alert: Mets
1. LF Jeff McNeil (L)
2. 1B Peter Alonso (R)
3. 2B Robinson Cano (L)
Talking Chop: Braves News: Mets must feel very unwelcome in Atlanta
The Braves offense was incredible once again, piling runs on the Mets staff en route to a 12-3 win. Ronald Acuna, Jr., Brian McCann, and Ozzie Albies each went deep in support of Mike Soroka, who bounced back to post a quality start and earn a victory.
The Braves' shiny new addition will make his debut on Friday in the nation's capitol, according to manager Brian Snitker.
After an impressive debut from Huascar Ynoa on Sunday, the right-hander was optioned back to Gwinnett in favor of left-hander Grant Dayton.
Amazin' Avenue: Mets continue their free fall in embarrassing loss to Braves
The good news is the Mets got to rookie Mike Soroka for three runs in six innings. The bad news is literally everything else about their Monday night game. Zack Wheeler was shaky, the defense was terrible, and the bullpen again was just disastrous, which made any inkling of actually winning the game ridiculous at best.
The first hints of how the game was going to go happened in the first inning. Ronald Acuna led off with a home run against Wheeler and then with one out Freddie Freeman hit a ball to Jeff McNeil that he botched in the outfield.
