As good as the Cubs had been leading up to this series they are almost a complete opposite now. The Rockies been working and trying to right their ship for over a month and they appear to be on their way to making things right. Their bullpen has all of a sudden gotten confidence and it shows. I'll take them again today and watch the Cubs scramble out of Colorado scratching their heads.

    My Pick: Colorado +120 & Under 12 60%

UNDER 12.5 - no way this total should be this high. Both Hamels and Senzatela have both been nails in their last 3 starts and combined have a 8.30 ERA. UNDERS is free money today

Purple Row: Cubs 10, Rockies 1: Rockies bats silenced in heated affair

    MLB

After routing the Cubs last night 10-3, it was the Rockies who were routed today, losing 10-1. Cole Hamels dominated the Rockies, striking out nine batters in seven innings.

Tensions ran high throughout the game, beginning in the third inning. Early in the game, Antonio Senzatela pitched really inside to Kyle Schwarber. To start the third, Javier Baez was almost mowed down by Senzatela. In the bottom of the third, Nolan Arenado was hit on the forearm by Cole Hamels and was ultimately lifted in the fifth in favor of Ryan McMahon. It was announced that Arenado has a left forearm contusion.

Cubs Insider: Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (6/12/19): Cubs 10, Rockies 1 - Hamels Does It All in Blowout Sweep-Stopper

The Cubs avoided the sweep in Denver, riding a solid performance from starter Cole Hamels and three multi-run innings to secure the W.

Carlos Gonzalez got the action going in the 2nd, shaking loose a single from Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela. Victor Caratini doubled and a long single from Jason Heyward put the Cubs up 2-0. Hamels helped himself and kept the line moving with a one-out single. Kyle Schwarber continued his commitment to keeping the fans in the cheap seats engaged, bringing Heyward and Hamels across the plate with a 432-foot homer.

Cubs Insider: Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (6/11/19) - Rockies 10, Cubs 3: Quintana Wild, Bats Quiet in Cubs Loss

Starting pitchers Jose Quintana and Peter Lambert squared off against one another for the second time in less than a week Tuesday night, resulting in the second loss for the Cubs in as many tries. Quintana struggled with control for much of the night, walking four Rockies hitters in just 4.2 innings. Things started off on a sour note for Q and the Cubs as Charlie Blackmon doubled to lead off the Rockies half of the 1st inning. Quintana retired the next two batters and appeared as though he may escape unscathed. But after a walk to Nolan Arenado, former Cub Daniel Murphy doubled to right field, driving in both Blackmon and Arenado to give the Rockies a 2-0 lead.
