Chris Paddack was having a great rookie campaign until his last two starts where he got roughed up in the tune of 5 and 4 earned. But those were both road starts against some powerful lineups (yankees and phillies) and while this is a road start, this is the best pitchers park in baseball against one of the worst lineups. I think this is a prime bounce back spot for Paddack and I think this total is way to high. I don't really like Beede on the other side and he's walking way to many batters right now. The good news is the padres is one of the most impatient teams in the league and only have two batters that are considered high walk batters so I think he will get by. I like the padres to win in a low scoring afair so I'll take the padres and the under here and hope we see something like a 4-2 game.

San Diego Padres (75% consensus). The San Diego Padres, who are trying to remain relevant in the National League wild-card race, hit the road for six games against NL West rivals with a pair against the San Francisco Giants beginning Tuesday. San Diego (33-33) has lost nine of its last 14 games after a 4-6 homestand concluded with a pair of losses to Washington - 5-2 in the finale when the Nationals belted four straight home runs in the eighth inning... http://bit.ly/2E6GZ6V

McCovey Chronicles: Giants vs. Padres, 6/11
Just a quick two-gamer against a team both Grant and I deemed "eh" this morning, but a team that is still much better (33-33) than the Giants (I think they're 15-65 at this point? Something like that? Bah, who cares).
This will probably be an interesting game in the series, given that the Padres' best pitcher -- Chris Paddack -- gets the start and Tyler Austin is in the lineup for the Giants (more on that in a second), but Buster Posey returns tomorrow, so, that's the one I'm more excited about.
San Jose Mercury News: San Francisco Giants need an All-Star: 'Somebody is going to have to go'
SAN FRANCISCO -- An attendance decline at Oracle Park isn't the only way fans have expressed their disappointment in the Giants' play this season.
After Major League Baseball revealed updated vote totals from the ballots that have been cast, it's clear Giants players haven't received much support in the polls this year.
Catcher Buster Posey was the only Giants starter to rank among the top 10 vote-getters at his position, but Posey is a distant eighth among catchers behind Cubs backstop Willson Contreras. Posey made his sixth All-Star team last season, but the injured catcher (right hamstring strain) has almost no chance of overcoming Contreras for a starting nod as the fourth-year Cubs veteran has already received 850,613 votes.
SignOnSanDiego.com: Padres look for Paddack to curve things up beginning vs. Giants
SAN FRANCISCO --
They weren't strikes, any three of the change-ups below the zone that the Phillies' J.T. Realmuto let go by.
But they were the kind of pitches that prompted swings more often earlier in the season.
Realmuto, however, let the offerings pass to get to a 3-1 count before fouling off three fastballs and lining a fourth fastball to left field for a single to start the fourth inning in Chris Paddack's last start.
Paddack is finding something similar happening more than it was when he arrived in the big leagues a little more than two months ago and retired the first 10 Giants batters he faced or a month later when he retired 19 straight at the end of an outing against the Mariners.

The San Diego Padres start an NL West standoff with the San Francisco Giants today, so find out how to watch Padres at Giants online or live tonight, through the latest MLB live stream.
Tuesday's game is the opener of what's just a two-game series, but they have the potential to be two important games. Chris Paddack will be looking to bounce back after the San Diego starter has gone from hero to zero in his last two starts, while on the other side Tyler Beede has never pitched against the Padres and never won a major league game, either.
