Peter Lambert looked freaking awesome his first start and I'm hoping teams don't have enough data on him to really prepare. I've seen this before with rookies where they start off great then the league catches up on with them after they have a decent sample size of film and whatnot. This total is really high to me and I know Quintana is a decent pitcher with a 48% ground ball rate and he shuts down left handed bats. So i'm worried about Q facing arenado and possibly story (maybe even desmond) but the rockies have some great lefties that I think he will be able to shut down. I'm waiting for the first five lines to come out because if by chance we see 7 or something I'm riding that under today too. Lambert shut down these cubs last week and gave up 4 hits over 7 innings so if he can do more of the same this should be an easy under.

    My Pick: Under 12

Purple Row: Rockies 10, Cubs 3: Rockies blow out Cubs for 10th straight home win

The Colorado Rockies kept up their stellar play at home on Tuesday night, trouncing the Chicago Cubs by a final score of 10-3. The first half of the game was close, but from the sixth inning on the Rockies were able to cruise.

Offense up and down the lineup

Daniel Murphy had a clutch two-RBI double with two outs in the first inning when this game was still close. Jose Quintana clamped things down for the next few innings, briefly dueling with Peter Lambert once again.

Quintana was eventually part of his team's meltdown, however.

Chicago Sun-Times: Rockies send Cubs to fifth straight road loss with 10-3 rout

DENVER - The Cubs looked at this seven game trip to Colorado and Los Angeles as a tough test.

    But this tough?

The National League-best Dodgers were still two days and 1,000 miles away as Charlie Blackmon's three-run homer in the sixth inning Tuesday night soared over the centerfield fence at Coors Field for an eight-run Rockies lead that turned into a 10-3 Cubs loss - their fifth straight on the road and seventh in their last eight road games.

"Both teams we're playing [this week] are really good," reliever Steve Cishek said after Monday's 6-5 loss in the series opener at Colorado.

Fansided: Chicago Cubs can live with series opening loss to the Rockies

The Chicago Cubs are seeing not only improvement but consistency out of Yu Darvish. He's cut down on his walks and has been able to pitch deeper into games. Last night against the Rockies, Darvish didn't walk anyone. That's how, as Len Kasper put it, it was 'Coors Field' quality start. Darvish allowed four runs on two two-run home runs. But the damage was minimized by not issuing a free pass. The 'consistency' part has also spread to his record-or lack of. Darvish took his eighth consecutive no-decision. His last decision was on April 27, a win versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.
