Rich hill has only pitched 15 innings and has 18 strike otus this year. I like that he's actually a reverse splits pitcher and strikes out right handed bats (28.5%) more than he does left handed batters (19.9%). The Reds will fire off 7 right handed batters and Hill looks promising because he reached 96 pitches in his last game. He has a short leash and never goes deep but this dodger bullpen rates out better than the reds. Also, speaking of splits lets dive into DeSclafani's! Wow, this guy gets CRUSHED by left handed bats and that's where the dodgers best bats are. I really like this game and love the price so I'm on the dodgers today.60%

I love the Dodgers here. Rich Hill is a gamer and is looking to get in the win column for the year. Hill has had success versus the Reds throughout his career and he gets the benefit of the doubt here against a left-handed heavy lineup. Hill has held lefties to a .154 batting average so far this season. For the Reds, DeSclafani is 0-2 with a 6.94 ERA in his last two starts against the Dodgers and hes allowed at least four runs in back-to-back starts. That is a recipe for disaster against one of the best teams in the National League. Take the Dodgers on the road in this NL battle on Friday.50%

Los Angeles Dodgers (66% consensus). The Los Angeles Dodgers typically have been synonymous with quality starting pitching through their franchise's history, and this year's club seems primed to add to that reputation with its recent efforts. The Dodgers' rotation should have a chance to prove themselves yet again on Friday, when the team begins a three-game series against the host Cincinnati Reds and their middling offense... http://bit.ly/2GgBwAC

Cincinnati.com: Home runs hurt Anthony DeSclafani, Cincinnati Reds in loss to Los Angeles Dodgers
Max Muncy connected on a curveball that hung in the strike zone and immediately dropped his bat as he watched the ball travel into the Great American Ball Park seats in right-center field.
Muncy's blast made it back-to-back homers in the third inning against Cincinnati Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani as the Los Angeles Dodgers, the highest-scoring offense in the National League, collectively showed their power in Friday's series opener. DeSclafani surrendered three homers in four innings, matching a single-game career high.
"It was pretty embarrassing, to say the least for myself," DeSclafani said.
Mike Scioscia's Tragic Illness: Dodgers 6, Reds 0: Dick Mountain proves an impossible climb for opposition
Following a two-game sweep of the Padres and three victories in a row, the Dodgers made it four in an easy 6-0 victory over the Reds thanks to Rich Hill and four dongs.
After struggling a bit to begin the season, likely because he was hurt during Spring Training, Hill looked dominant tonight.
He ended up throwing 85 pitches, going six shutout frames and striking out 10, only allowing two singles to Reds hitters.
It was an impressive showing, as his fastball had its usual life and the curve was unhittable throughout.
Redleg Nation: Dodgers vs. Reds - May 17, 2019
When this season started, the expectations for the Cincinnati Reds defense were not high. The loss of a perennial Gold-Glove contender, center fielder Billy Hamilton, appeared to leave this team's defense significantly weaker up the middle, where neither shortstop Jose Peraza nor second baseman Scooter Gennett are known as standouts at those respective positions.
The first approximately quarter of the 2019 season has produced many surprises for this team, both positive and negative. The performance of the defense would have to be classified as a positive surprise.
For example, in rankings among the major league teams, the Reds are:tied for 6th in fewest errors committed with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks (20)
6th overall in double plays turned (42)
tied for 15th in stolen base percentage allowed (.
Dodger Blue: Preview: Dodgers Begin Series Against Yasiel Puig, Reds At Great American Ball Park
After completing a successful 7-2 homestand, the Los Angeles Dodgers now embark on an eight-game road trip beginning with a three-game series against Yasiel Puig and the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park.
Rich Hill gets the start on the mound in Friday's series opener and is looking to get on track after a bit of a rough start to his season. Hill missed the first few weeks of the year due to a knee injury, and in three starts since returning, has gone 0-1 with a 4.20 ERA, 6.58 FIP and 1.33 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and three walks in 15 innings.
Red Reporter: Dodgers at Reds, Game 1 - Preview and Lineups
Cody Bellinger has compiled 117 total bases this season. For reference, the group of Jose Peraza, Yasiel Puig, Tucker Barnhart, and Scott Schebler have 121 total bases...combined.
Cody Bellinger and the NL-best Los Angeles Dodgers begin a weekend series in GABP against the Cincinnati Reds tonight, a matchup that will pit the highest scoring offense in the NL against the league's stingiest pitching. Of course, while the Dodgers will get to trot out their MVP front-runner at their will, the Reds won't be using ace Luis Castillo in this series, seeing as he was on the mound last night in the Reds series-clinching victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Fansided: Cincinnati Reds: Anthony DeSclafani looks to rebound against the Dodgers
Cincinnati Reds' starter Anthony DeSclafani struggled out of the gates to begin this season. DeSclafani, however, has rebounded quite nicely, but a hiccup last weekend in San Francisco has raised some questions. Can DeSclafani rebound against the Los Angeles Dodgers?
Anthony DeSclafani started the season going 0-1 in his first 3 starts. The Reds lost all three games and Disco gave up four home runs in those three games. DeSclafani's walk totals were also unimpressive. In two of those first three games, DeSclafani offered up three passes.
Thankfully DeSclafani got back on track during the Reds' West Coast trip to San Diego.
True Blue LA: Dodgers head to Cincinnati for weekend series
After a quick two-game sweep of the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers will travel to Cincinnati where they'll take on the Reds for three games.
The Dodgers have won three in a row, and seven of their last 10, as they currently sit a top the NL West. The Reds, who have gone 5-5 in their last 10, currently sit at 19-24 and are 7.5 games out of first place in the NL Central.
These two teams met at Dodger Stadium last month, with the Dodgers taking the three-game series sweep.
