CC has been looking really good and I like how he's reinvented himself and went from a high heat strike out hitter to a soft contact control pitcher. Maybe Felix hernadez will get the memo that you need to zig when everyone zags because you can't just throw heaters when you've been in the league ten plus years. I was on this game this morning and took the Yankees -105. I like the under as well but I think the yankees will get line up well against Chirinos (Stanek will start but only pitch two innings).

My Pick: New York -113 70%

C.C. is still getting his feet under him but he should be able to work this to a win. Tampa is good and this will probably stay tight.

We are starting to see Tampa Bay starting to struggle to keep their spot on top of the AL east. Both the Yankees and Red Sox are right on their heels. To make things worse the Rays have struggled in this series as of late, losing five of their last seven contests against the Yankees and 22 of their last 30 visits to Yankee Stadium. Sabathia has pitched well versus the Rays over the last three seasons, but has suffered some tough luck, finishing with a 1-2 record despite posting a 2.00 ERA. With that said, New York is 10-3 in his last 13 starts against Tampa Bay which is more then enough for me to take the Yanks at plus odds.

My Pick: New York +100 50%

(53% consensus). The New York Yankees took two of three at the Tampa Bay Rays last weekend to put some pressure on the American League East leaders and then spent the week sitting out the rain before sweeping a doubleheader from the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. The Yankees will try to move into the top spot in the East when they host the Rays in the opener of a three-game series Friday... http://bit.ly/2GfVZFy

NEW YORK - The Rays looked to have beaten the Yankees, and a 35-minute rain delay, on Friday night, hanging on to and further extending their lead in the American League East.

  • TBO Rays: Rays at Yankees lineups, on a Friday with first place on the line

The Rays roll into a three-game weekend series against the Yankees with a half-game lead in the AL East.

When they met last weekend at the Trop, the Rays went in with a 1 1/2 game lead but lost two of three. Both teams played two games since and won them both.

The Rays are using Ryne Stanek as the opener tonight, his 12th such turn and the 13th opener this season overall. Yonny Chirinos is expected to follow and work the bulk of the innings. The Yankees are starting veteran lefty CC Sabathia, who pitched good but not great last Saturday at the Trop.
