You gotta love the Golden Gophers on this one. MSU is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 tourney games and Minnesota has some magic in it's favor right now. They've beaten some good teams as of late and are a great neutral court team. I think Amir Coffey and Co have been shooting much better as of late (11/27 from 3 in first round).

  • This game has a grind-it-out Big 10 game feel to which I believe will make it a close game. The first game was rough for Minnesota but Ward was dominant, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine boards. Hes not 100% yet and that was in East Lansing. I expect the Golden Gophers to continue playing strong basketball and to play much better than they did in that first game. Theyll definitely cover with ease in this tournament game.

    My Pick: Minnesota +10.5

  • The Minnesota Golden Gophers entered the tournament as a 10-seed with a 22-13 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after beating Louisville in the 1st round, 86-76. Gabe Kalscheur led the way for the Golden Gophers with 24 points. The Michigan State Spartans entered the NCAA Tournament as a 2-seed with a 29-6 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after beating the Bradley Braves in the 1st round, 76-65.

The Gophers have played much better recently beating a good Purdue team twice and coming off of a dominating win against a solid Louisville team. Michigan State looked sluggish in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament while Minnesota has a chip on their shoulder after being on the bubble. The Golden Gophers will need to continue establishing Jordan Murphy inside as well as receive some production from their bench. Minnesota is familiar with the Spartans and I think the hungrier team in this spot. Michigan State should win this game but I'll take Minnesota to hang around and cover.
