Knicks have had an extra day of rest but they are missing Burke. Nets had a big game last night that went into overtime so expect a sluggish group. Nets don't play good the 2nd game of a back to back, in fact they are 0-6 and are losing by almost 14 points. Looks like I'm going against the grain, but taking New York to cover at home.

Elite Sports NY: Brooklyn Nets thrash the New York Knicks, 112-104, at the Garden (Highlights)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK--The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets squared off in their penultimate meeting this season. The crosstown rivals split their first two games of the season. The Nets secured a last-second victory in their first meeting, courtesy of a Caris LeVert floater.

But their second meeting featured the energized Knicks and a listless Nets. Their third meeting finished in a similar fashion, but roles were reversed. This time, the Nets entered Madison Square Garden and controlled the pace for most of the game.

The Nets clearly aren't over their fourth quarter jitters yet, because they let the Knicks creep back into the game.

Posting and Toasting: Nets 112, Knicks 104: Scenes from Frank Ntilikina's return from exile

The Nets beat the Knicks on Saturday night, 112-104...but who cares? The big news is that Frank Ntilikina is back! The 20-year-old guard was finally released from his bench exile late in the third quarter with the Knicks trailing by 15. It had been more than 176 minutes since the young Frenchman had seen the court.

And Frank made the most of his return, dropping a tidy 7 points (3-6 shooting) and 3 assists in only 15 minutes of play. An all-youth lineup of Frank, Allonzo Trier, Damyean Dotson, Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson briefly got the deficit down to 5--almost 3, as a Dotson layup just barely rimmed out--before Brooklyn rallied to put the game away.

Fansided: Brooklyn Nets at New York Knicks: Live stream, TV info, injury report

The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks have split homecourt victories this season and on Saturday night the teams meet again at Madison Square Garden for the second and final time in 2018-19. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

The Nets (9-18) come in off their first win since Nov. 20, as they topped the Toronto Raptors in overtime Friday night at home, 106-105. The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak. The Knicks (8-18) have lost four of their last five games, including two in a row.

Their last game was a 128-100 drubbing on the road Thursday at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

Posting and Toasting: Game Preview: Knicks vs Nets- 12/8/18

The Brooklyn Nets (9-18) will ride their fixies over to Madison Square Garden tonight. At this point it's still unclear if they'll remove their septum rings before the game or before the ride. The Nets broke their eight-game losing streak with an overtime win over the fanged and clawed Raptors. New York (8-18) had their last win against the two-point Milwaukee Bucks, also in overtime.

The Bucks, of course, beat the Raptors earlier this year and neither team had their best player (Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo). Much like the Knicks and Nets matching up tonight without their respective stars (one Caris LeVert for Brooklyn and some mope named Kristaps Porzingis for New York).

Elite Sports NY: New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets clash for the 3rd time this year

The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets are in similar places. Entering the season, both were in the midst of rebuilds. The Knicks knew the season would be up and down at times without their superstar, Kristaps Porzingis. The Nets believed they had developed to the point where they could contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

But things have changed since mid-October. Let's take a look at the earlier matchups between these teams. Moreover, let's take a look at where these teams stand as we approach 2019.
