New York drops to 4-9 on the year. They played tough but ultimately were unable to overpower Toronto. The Raptors struggled early turning over the ball and Knicks did what they could to hang in. In the first quarter the Raptors basically did not run pick and rolls as Frank Ntilikina and Mitchell Robinson proved a troublesome pair.

Eventually Enes Kanter and Emmanuel Mudiay got in the game and well...

New York, to their credit stuck with it for the rest of the first half.

Raptors HQ: Raptors overcome sloppy start, thrash the Knicks 128-112

Over the years the Raptors haven't exactly made the weekend matinee games their forte, but maybe this year it'd be different. The pregame hope (for me anyways) was now that they have Kawhi Leonard, and are off to their best start in franchise history, they could play some clean basketball and just brush the Knicks off their shoulders.

But of course, even with all of that, the Raptors got off to their typical early afternoon sloppy fashion. Starting the game off with almost four minutes of scoreless basketball to go along with four turnovers.

Raptors HQ: Raptors vs. Knicks Game Thread: Pre-game updates, TV info and more

The NBA is buzzing just prior to the tip of the Raptors and Knicks game, thanks to a blockbuster trade sending Jimmy Butler to an in-division rival of both teams -- the Philadelphia 76ers. The saga is finally over, but his time as an in-house threat has just begun. Nick Nurse has certainly taken notice, and is happy to the competition level increase:

Nurse on Butler trade: "I watched (Minnesota's) entire game last night. I guess I wasn't totally surprised this morning that it went down.

Posting and Toasting: Game Preview: Knicks at Raptors - 11/10/18

The Knicks (4-8) take a quick jaunt across the border to mount up against the Raptors (11-1). Toronto has won their last five games, including a four game road trip. Neither team has played since Wednesday.

The Raptors, aside from having the best record in the league, play an assertive togetherness that is tough to come by. Kawhi Leonard is looking like he will get back to old self by season's end. He's already decimating opponents on both ends. Meanwhile Kyle Lowry is having a career year. Check this out from Reddit user caboose979:

Consensus betting prediction from the Covers.com community:
    Toronto Raptors
(61% consensus). The Toronto Raptors look every bit the contender in the Eastern Conference with or without Kawhi Leonard, but the presence of the superstar power forward might make them the best team in the East. Leonard and the Raptors will try to run their latest winning streak to six in a row when they host the New York Knicks on Saturday... http://bit.ly/2B2B05L

Raptors HQ: Raptors return home to play the Knicks: Preview, start time, and more

It's a Saturday afternoon matinee between the very good Raptors and the not so good New York Knicks. The Raptors return home after a perfect 4-0 Western Conference road trip and look to extend their win streak to six for the second time this season. On the other hand, the Knicks look to extend their win streak to a season-high two games.

The Knicks are led by their $17 million-man Tim Hardaway Jr., who's averaging 24.3 points per game (15th in the league) and amongst those top-15 scorers, he has the worst field goal percentage at 41 percent.

The Star: Saturday NBA game preview: New York Knicks at Toronto Raptors

    Hardaway Jr./Green

Hardaway suffered a back injury against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, did not play Monday against the Chicago Bulls -- then put up 34 points, including 27 in the second half, in Wednesday's win over the Atlanta Hawks. Hardaway made a career-high 16 free throws on 20 attempts and is shooting 37.8 per cent from behind the arc. Green, meanwhile, has hit two or more threes in 10 of his first 12 games as a Raptor.

    NEED TO KNOW

There's still no timetable for the return of Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis, who went down with a torn ACL in February .
