The Dream Shake: Rockets go ice cold, lose to Thunder 98-80
The Houston Rockets showcased their worst offensive performance in the young season with a 98-80 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road Thursday night.
Houston shot just 37.8 percent from the floor and struggled all night long. The team's three leading scorers, James Harden, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony, combined for just 31 points on 12-41 shooting.
In particular, Melo had his worst game in Rockets red, scoring just two points on 1-11 shooting, and the two points came on a goaltend, so Melo did not make a single shot in the entire ballgame.
Fansided: Grades: OKC Thunder smother Rockets, win their 7th straight game
Coming off a less than stellar performance against the worst team in the NBA, the OKC Thunder needed to bounce back against the more formidable Houston Rockets. A team that not only sports our old friends James Harden and Carmelo Anthony, but was in search of an important win.
Thankfully for the OKC Thunder, that win will have to be collected another night. For tonight was the Thunder's chance to roar once again, as they rolled to a 98-80 victory, their seventh in a row. Even without Russell Westbrook, this gritty unit is clicking more and more with each passing game.
Houston Chronicle: Misfiring Rockets crushed by Thunder
OKLAHOMA CITY - As Carmelo Anthony fired away, searching and hoping for something that worked in his return to Oklahoma City, there was one thing he had accomplished.
He fully captured the frustrations and inept play of his current team, as it was blown off the floor by a portion of his previous team.
Anthony was far from the Rockets' only problem. There were issues wherever they turned. But little could better capture how far the Rockets were from competing with the Oklahoma City Thunder before they finished another game with the bench cleared, the Thunder completing a 98-80 romp in which the Rockets' largest lead was one and brief.

Houston G Eric Gordon (adductor) is listed as questionable to play in this matchup. These two teams rank in the bottom third of the league in offensive efficiency, so the under is worth a look. The stronger play is on Houston to win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Houston Rockets win and cover ATS 110-100.

I really want to convince myself to take OKC and the 4 points at home tonight. After all they have reeled off 5 straight without Westbrook and reports are that Westbrook could possible play tonight. This Houston team is hard to figure out, they have no problem beating up mediocre teams but have struggled against winning teams. I'll wait until game time to check status of Westbrook, but the 4 points with this hot OKC team is tempting me...
