Memphis has a major advantage in this matchup is in the interior: the Grizzlies score the most points in the paint per game and the Pistons give up the sixth-most points in the paint per game. The Grizzlies are only ranked 16th in rebounds per game but rank 12th in opponents rebounds per game and the Pistons rank dead last in rebounds per game. Further, Detroit will most likely be without Andre Drummond tonight. Check before start but it Drummond is out it's hammer time.
Detroit Piston's Andre Drummond - Questionable Friday
Drummond (mouth) is considered questionable for Friday's game versus the Grizzlies. Coach Dwane Casey said Thursday the veteran is expected to play and was initially listed as probable, but his availability for Friday now appears more uncertain. Drummond's status should be updated again before the 7 p.m. ET tipoff, but there appears to be a chance he misses his second straight contest.
Memphis Grizzlies 20-24 (22-21-1 ATS) @ the Detroit Pistons 17-28 (17-26-2 ATS) Detroits home record may be the deciding factor in the game tonight. They are 9-13 at home this season. They are 3-2 in their last 5 games. The Grizzlies on the other hand are 7-11 on the road. They have also won 3 of their last 5. Just on the ATS alone Im going to take the Grizzlies.
Forget the line, Grizzlies win outright. I'm a fan of the pistons and I watch most of their games, they simply can't keep up with the Grizzlies' pace. Pistons usually wake up in the 3rd but that's not gonna cut it when you're down 15 in the half & the other team keeps coming at you.
Memphis is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 H2H's at Little Caesars Arena Memphis is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 on one day of rest Pistons are 0-5 SU & 0-5 ATS at home after a win Pistons are 6-13 SU & 6-13 ATS at home when allowing 100+
Grizzlies have way more offensive capability, sure they lost their last 2 but they're still the more consistent team of the two.
The Grizzlies are 7-2 SU in there last 9 games. They look to bounce back tonight against a Pistons team that simply isn't very good and come trade deadline gonna get worst.. Don't let the fact that the Pistons have beat up on some bad teams here recently keep you from realizing they simply will not keep up with this Grizzlies team.. I have the Grizzlies winning this one outright.. But I'll take the points.
