I just don't think the sixers could have shot any worse in the first game and no way does that happen again tonight. I'm on the over because they only went 3-26 from three last game. Both these teams play fast and I think we see a shoot out tonight

    My Pick: Over 226

Philly has covered just once in the last 5 against Brooklyn, losing 2 straight up on their home court. The Nets are an impressive 5-2 straight up on the road in their last 7 and are now just a +180 to win this series. Embiid's knee is an obvious concern and Philly shot just 3-25 from beyond the arc in game 1. Simmons has to have himself a game attacking the lane and getting to the line/opening things up for other stars. I'm playing the +110 that he gets his 15.5 points in this one. Lock it in.

    My Pick: Over 225.5 70%

  • Joel Embiid knee is still broke and Jimmy Butler isn't scoring 36 again. Ben Simmons only talent left on that team. Brooklyn playing with too much confidence to not take the points. And fyi the unders are 8-0 through the playoffs, and I expect both teams to have a better plan tonight.

    My Pick: Brooklyn +8 & Under 225.5 50%

Philly has the better talent of the two and redeem themselves tonight and ultimately win this series.

All these teams that thought they could just rest people and rely on what they did early in the season to get them into the playoffs are faltering so far in the playoffs. You have to have a rhythm coming in and some just kept telling everybody they would be fine in the playoffs. I'm not saying some don't have the talent to come back but they got put on notice. I still like Brooklyn to cover if not win.

    My Pick: Brooklyn +8 50%

  • Coming into this year's playoffs, if there was any team that would prove to be disappointing and nothing but hype, it would be the 76ers. Expect Brooklyn to come out with fast-pace, looking to score in transition, and shoot a lot of 3s. Defensively the Nets will continue to dare Ben Simmons to make a jump shot. I expect Butler to have a great game, and Embiid to be limited because of the knee. Brooklyn's bench provides better productivity than Philly so thats a huge positive. I expect Philly to put on a much better performance than they did Saturday but, +8 is too much of a reach for this team currently. Philly May win, hell Brooklyn might steal 2, but expect the game to be very close in point margin.

    My Pick: Brooklyn +8 & Over 226 50%

      Good - 24 mins, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks and 22 points. Under 225.5 pays BKN +8 & Under 225.5 50%

Game one Brooklyn looked like the better team on both ends of the floor but Vegas still in love with Philly and throwing out big numbers again. The Brooklyn Nets play transition offensive and makes a lot of threes. The Philadelphia 76ers have the more talented team on paper but continue to struggle with turnovers and play too much iso ball. Not to mention Embiid who continues to struggle with a nagging knee injury. The 76ers should play better here at home, but the value is once again with the Nets and the eight points.

    My Pick: Brooklyn +8 50%

(64% consensus). The Brooklyn Nets' guard play proved to be too much in Game 1 of their first-round matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers, who hope to avoid falling into a 2-0 series hole when the teams meet Monday night. Guards D'Angelo Russell, Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie combined for 67 points to lead the sixth-seeded Nets to a 111-102 victory in the best-of-seven series opener Saturday, seizing homecourt advantage away from the No. 3 seed...

Liberty Ballers: Philadelphia doesn't burn to ground as Sixers whoop Nets 145-123 in Game 2

The Sixers dunked the city of Philadelphia in a pool of relaxing eucalyptus oil tonight, as they routed the Nets 145-123. We can all take a deep breathe... and exhale. It was exactly the sort of throttling Brett Brown's crew needed to put on display. Just how comfortable of a win was it? Well, the Sixers ran a lineup of TJ McConnell, Jonathon Simmons, Furkan Korkmaz, Jonah Bolden and Greg Monroe to close out the game. That's how comfortable.

The first half was sort of disheartening for Sixers fans.

  • CBS: Simmons Triple-Double Leads 76ers To Game 2 Win Over Nets

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Ben Simmons got an earful from the Philly crowd.

With the same 76ers fans Simmons put on blast for booing in the playoff opener now going wild in Game 2, Simmons cupped a hand to his right ear just like Allen Iverson's signature move to spur the cheers even louder.

And he did it with Iverson rooting on the Sixers from courtside.

Simmons had 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds and the Philadelphia 76ers had an answer for the pesky Brooklyn Nets in a 145-123 win to even their Eastern Conference playoff series Monday night.

  • Fansided: Brooklyn Nets: 3 things to watch in Game 2 at Philadelphia

After a methodical Game 1 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets have played a supporting role in the buildup to Game 2, set for Monday at 8 p.m. and to be broadcast as part of TNT's coverage of the NBA Playoffs.

The focus has been more on how the 76ers lost Game 1, much more than any discussion of how the Nets won it.

Brooklyn withstood two early charges by Philadelphia -- one to open each half -- and controlled most of the rest of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Nets were relentless and efficient in closing the game out, holding a double-digit lead for all but 1:38 -- 59 seconds early in the period and the last 38.

  • NY Post: Nets vs. 76ers: Mismatches make Brooklyn a live bet for Game 2

A huge part of basketball strategy is hunting mismatches on the floor. For the Nets, that mismatch was going small with 6-foot-7 Jared Dudley playing at center and forcing Boban Marjanovic or Joel Embiid to guard in space. The Nets attacked that mismatch all day in Game 1, scoring 46 points in the paint and taking 26 shots from the free-throw line.

76ers head coach Brett Brown had no adjustment to Kenny Atkinson's strategy, and that is one of the other mismatches in this series. Brown, going back to the series against Boston a year ago, has been thoroughly out-coached by the opposition in the postseason.
