Celtics should cover. Rozier is a serviceable fill in for Irving. Im also thinking the Under is in play here.
My Pick: Boston -3 & Under 218.5
- 49 Agree
The biggest new is that Irving is out and will be replaced by Rozier. This does two things in my mind,it slows the Celtics down because Rozier isn't as quick as Irving is. The other thing it does is make's the Celtics a little better defensivily because Kyrie plays matador defense. I'll take the under

If Boston didn't have the injury issues I think they rebound from their little skid, but they are gonna be short and the Nets get a little edge in this match up now. Look for Boston to drop another one.
My Pick: Brooklyn +3
- 49 Agree
Boston should be motivated in this one after losing to the Magic. Kyrie is out today but I don't think that should affect the outcome. Go with Celtics -3.

the line moved down like crazy , sharp money are being on Nets
My Pick: Brooklyn +3

Boston is 8-14 on the road ATS this year but I like the 5th best scoring D to play with some heart tonight after a rough weekend. Close game but Kyrie rallies the troops and cover.
My Pick: Boston -4.5 & Under 220.5
- 63 Agree
I like the way the nets have been playing over the last six weeks or so but having to deal with division rivals can be challenging. The Celtics have dominated the Nets in recent years, winning 10 straight meetings coming into this one. Boston has work to do in order to get back on track after letting that game against Orlando slip away. The Celtics look to make up some ground in the playoff picture and make up for 2 recent ugly losses. Ill take the Celtics in this one
My Pick: Boston -4

CBS: Russell's Big Night Leads Nets Over Celtics 109-102
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- D'Angelo Russell scored 18 of his 34 points in the third quarter and the Brooklyn Nets ended a 10-game losing streak to Boston with a 109-102 victory on Monday night, sending the Celtics to a winless three-game road trip.
With Kyrie Irving nursing a bruised right quadriceps, the Nets blew open the game with a 15-0 run in the third quarter and outscored the Celtics 44-21 in the period.
Jarrett Allen added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets, who have won nine of their last 10 home games. Rookie Rodions Kurucs also scored 19 points.
Fansided: 3 Takeaways from the Boston Celtics 109-102 loss to the Brooklyn Nets
I for one was not looking forward to the postgame interviews going into the fourth quarter. The Brooklyn Nets just capped off a 44-point third quarter, D'Angelo Russell couldn't miss, and the Celtics were down 24 points.
Then the fourth quarter happened. Brad Stevens went with a lineup of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Brad Wanamaker, Daniel Theis and Guerschon Yabusele. Boston ended up losing the game by seven, because you can't fall behind by that much in the fourth and come back. But the effort this team showed in the face of a crippling defeat was encouraging.
Here are three of the main takeaways from the Celtics' 109-102 loss in Brookly Monday night.

The Celtics complete their 3 game road trip with a visit to the Brooklyn Nets. This is the 2nd of 4 meetings between these two teams this season. The Celtics beat the Nets 116-95 one week ago in Boston.

Fansided: Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics: TV info, live stream, injury report
The Brooklyn Nets will look very different Monday night than they did a week ago when they last faced the Boston Celtics. And the Celtics enter Barclays Center for the 7:30 p.m. Eastern tip with a very different look, as well.
The Nets may get forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson back after he's been out the last six games with a hip injury. Hollis-Jefferson is questionable and will be a game-time call.
Boston All-Star Kyrie Irving, on the other hand, is officially out for Monday after sustaining a contusion in his right quad Saturday when the Celtics lost on the road to the Orlando Magic, while another Boston guard, Marcus Smart, is doubtful due to illness.
Fansided: Brooklyn Nets: 3 things to watch against slumping Celtics
The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets hook up for the second straight Monday, but at least one of the teams will enter Barclays Center distinctly different than it was a week ago.
The Nets took a 116-95 pounding at TD Garden on Jan. 7, in the first meeting between the long-time Atlantic Division rivals this season, under the stress of a poor shooting night and a season-high 23 turnovers.
Brooklyn (21-23) shot just 11-for-42 (26.2 percent) from 3-point range with a thin bench, as Joe Harris and DeMarre Carroll both sat out the game on the back end of a road back-to-back.
NetsDaily: Celtics, with Kyrie Irving hot (as in mad), arrive in Brooklyn
Hello! Welcome back everyone! I hope we all took a little time to recover from that Raptors loss. There seemed to be a genuine wave of disappointment across the Nets Universe about the "L" to Toronto and I am here to assure you all that it's ok to lose to one of the best teams in the league while seemingly half the rotation is out with injuries. Would it be more fun to win? Obviously, but it's a long season. The Nets, and more importantly we, will survive.
Brooklyn is back home for this next one, where they'll face the current fifth seed in the East, the Boston Celtics.
Fansided: Kyrie Irving (quad) questionable for Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets
The Boston Celtics announced Kyrie Irving is questionable for Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets with a right quad contusion.
This isn't the first time Irving has missed time with a quad contusion. He sat out a few games last season with the same injury, but if you've ever been kneed in the thigh during a basketball game, you'll understand why he misses time for it.
There's a chance he still plays but Irving's absence would make for an interesting story-line for this game. After calling out young teammates Saturday night for not playing consistently at a championship level, one of those players might have a chance to start.

Free Betting Prediction: Boston will WIN , Cover the Spread , and the Total will go Over .
The Boston Celtics could have the tonic they need tonight to stop a mini two-game losing skid when they head to Barclays to play the Nets. The Celts have won 10 straight in this matchup and enter tonight's game as a 4-point favorite with the total at 221. The last time the Celtics lost in Brooklyn was November 2015, a span of five games. A day after calling out his teammates for not having a championship mentality, Kyrie Irving is questionable with a bruised quadriceps. Original matchup: http://bit.ly/2Mbq4pO

Fansided: What to watch for when the Boston Celtics host the Brooklyn Nets
The Boston Celtics are at a crossroads in their season. After dropping two straight games in Florida, Kyrie Irving called out the young players on the team for their inexperience playing at a championship level causing the Celtics' ups and downs.
They don't have a lot of time to dwell on the loss or Irving's comments, because they will host a pesky Brooklyn Nets team who is 6-4 over its last 10 games. Here's what to watch for as the Celtics face a strange must-win game in January.Tale of the tape: Celtics: 25-17 (5th in East), on a two game losing streak and are 6-4 over their last 10 games.
