Siding with the Portland Trailblazers at home in this one against Charlotte Hornets. Charlotte isn't good on the road plus they've dropped the last six of nine. The Trail Blazers are averaging 112 ppg and giving up 117 ppg, and to top it off Charlotte is getting outscored by 8 points per game. Portland is not only playing good ball right now, they are also great at covering the spread.
My Pick: Portland -6

Dame Dolla might not play in this game so keep an eye out for that. If he doesn't play I'm going with Hornets +6.5 as both of these teams rely on offense more than defense and Hornets are capable of putting up serious points. If Dame Dolla is playing go with Over for the 1st quarter.

At the Hive: Hornets still not playing defense, lose to Trail Blazers 127-96
Kemba Walker's 18 and Jeremy Lamb's 15 were the only Charlotte Hornets marks in double figures as they got run off the court by the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Hornets dug themselves an early hole with poor defense on the perimeter. The Trail Blazers jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the game's first four minutes. A James Borrego timeout only provided a brief respite, as Portland went on to score 37 points in the game's opening period. C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard combined to outscore the Hornets 28-27 in that first quarter.
At the Hive: Charlotte Hornets at Portland Trail Blazers game thread
The Trail Blazers always seem good but never great. Charlotte hasn't won a basketball game in Portland since the year 2008. Emeka Okafor and Jason Richardson led the way that night with 21 and 20 points respectively. Travis Outlaw paced the Blazers with 26 points. Earl Boykins and Raef LaFrentz played in that game.
That's a long time ago.

At the Hive: Hornets head to Portland to take on the Blazers
When: 10:00 p.m. EST
Where: Moda Center; Portland, OR
How to watch: Fox Sports Southeast, NBA League Pass
The Hornets have only won five road games this season and this will be a tough test against a really good team. Most of the next few games are going to be like this for James Borrego's team. It would be huge if the Hornets could steal a game or two on this trip and that is going to take a great defensive effort. The play of the players not named Kemba will be the reason why the team wins or loses.
Fansided: Charlotte Hornets seek rare road win against Trail Blazers
The Charlotte Hornets (19-21) could not have this current road trip at a worse time. Going in, they were one game below .500 and with five of the six games in this trip being against teams vying for playoff spots out West, the team was in a position to lose their own playoff spot.
They have a bit of wiggle room right now, though, as they are 1.5 games above the Detroit Pistons for that final playoff spot, but that could be in jeopardy as they'll need to do something they've only accomplished five times in their 30-year existence.

The Hornets are rounding the midway point of a season-high six-game road trip and will look to balance their record at 2-2 as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at 10 p.m. ET.
Portland swept the season series last year, winning by an average of just 4.0 points in both meetings (one of which went to overtime). The Hornets, who have yet to beat a team on the road with a winning record this season, have dropped 10 straight games at the Moda Center, having not won in the building since March 29, 2008.
Kemba Walker will be looking to rebound from a 13-point showing against the Clippers back on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
