Docic starting at point against the wolves is what the Mavs need. Minnesota gets teams in trouble in the transition game. It should be a lower scoring game, but I think it gives Dallas a chance to keep it close and win.70%

Dennis Smith Jr is ruled out tonight and I think that impacts the way this game is played. When DSJ is out we've seen Luka Doncic handle the point more and while I love Doncic more than most, he's not nearly as fast as DSJ. Dallas tends to slow down more and run more plays with Luka running the point. For this reason I think this game is played at a slower pace with a lot of jump shots and three pointers in the half court game. So I'm on the under hoping neither team gets hot from deep.

I think this should be a good game. T'Wolves have hit the reset button with a new coach and I still don't know what to expect from them. I think the smart bet is with Mavs +4.5 who are known to put up a fight against anyone.

Star Tribune: Wolves stumble to Dallas in Ryan Saunders' home debut
For one of the few times this season, the Timberwolves game operations team didn't have to pipe in music after the pregame introductions for the team's coach. Instead, when public address announcer Shawn Parker said Ryan Saunders' name, a loud ovation overtook Target Center as Saunders' name was emblazoned on the scoreboard on another Prince-themed night.
The sellout crowd embraced Saunders, who is a nod to the franchise's past through his father Flip, and, fans hope, the start of a future that once seemed bright when franchise cornerstones Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns first came to town.
It will be hard for the Wolves to top the drama and emotion of Tuesday's win over Oklahoma City.

Official Site of the Mavs: Rick Carlisle has nothing but praise for Timberwolves interim coach Ryan Saunders
Saunders took over the Timberwolves' interim coaching duties this past Sunday after Minnesota fired coach Tom Thibodeau. Saunders is the son of former Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders, who died on Oct. 25, 2015.
"Flip was a good friend of mine," Carlisle said following Friday morning's shootaround at the Target Center. "He was a guy that was so well-thought of universally by everyone in the game, by the coaching fraternity especially.
"He had an amazing way with people. Ryan has all of those same qualities. Now he has an amazing opportunity. After this dad passed I spent a lot of time with him over the last couple of years.

Official Site of the Timberwolves: Scouting Report | Wolves vs. Mavericks
The Wolves face the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night in Ryan Saunders' first home game as Interim Head Coach. He will certainly get a warm welcome from the Minnesota crowd. The Wolves looked great in his first game on the sidelines in OKC, and they'll look for a repeat performance in yet another important conference matchup.
The Mavericks are an interesting team. They are currently 19-22 and sitting in the No. 14 spot in the Western Conference. That being said, they are a quality squad. Everything is so tight in the West right now that's it's better to look at record than seeding to determine how good a team is--the Mavs are just 3.
