I really like castilla at home and vs the cardinals team that will most likely have 4 lefties in the line up tonight. I don't think that really matters because Casitillos splits are great to both sides of the plate. He looked straight up awesome his last start and he's faced this team twice this year and went six innings giving up one run in both starts. Wainwright on the other hand does have extreme splits so if the reds can roll out at least 4 I think they get to him. I hate the reds pen so I'll most likely do F5

    My Pick: Cincinnati -138 50%

Castillo is one of the best pitchers at home. I think this Reds team takes Game 2.

  • Wainwright struggles on the road and I just cant back him here. Castillo has been on point for the Reds here and he shuld have no problems navigating this Cards line up.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Cards bang out four homers, 18 hits to whip Reds 13-4

    MLB

CINCINNATI * _Luis Castillo, the Cincinnati Reds' All-Star righthander, had throttled the Cardinals twice this season, holding them to two runs in 12 innings. But it was the Cardinals worked over Castillo early in the game Friday night, requiring him to throw 52 pitches to traverse the first two innings.

The 50th of those pitches was a 3-0 fastball to Dexter Fowler with two on and two out in the second. Instead of having Fowler potentially walk to load the bases, the Cardinals had flashed the hit sign to the veteran outfielder. Hit he did, launching his 14th homer, a three-run shot to right center, that gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.

Cincinnati.com: Gray pitches Cincinnati Reds to a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals

    MLB

Luis Castillo is the undisputed ace of the Reds rotation, but nobody's been better than Sonny Gray since the end of June,

Gray's dominant - albeit short - start helped halt the Reds' losing streak at four games in a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday night before a crowd of 14,891 at Great American Ball Park.

Gray extended his scoreless streak to a career-high 18 with five shutout innings.
