I really love Gallen and it's going to be really interesting to see how this plays. He's been crushing since being called up and got no reconition because he was with the marlins. But his record should be at least 4-1 right now because he doesn't get any run support and lost two games by one run because his team can't score. Now he's on the Dbacks facing gray who struggles against lefties and will face up to 6 tonight and I'm going to throw my coors field bias out the window and say Gallen won't get rocked. I love that he gets plus money in this spot and have to take advantage and since I like the Dbacks pen more I'll do full game instead of F5

    My Pick: Arizona +113 50%

  • I like Zac Gallen on the road here to get a win. Runs will be scored that is a fact but the Rockies pitching staff is brutal and really bad at home. The Diamondbacks are still somewhat alive in the Wildcard hunt while the Rockies have fallen off fast and their pitching is a big reason why. Arizona has taken advantage of Colorados pitching this season, averaging a terrific 5.46 runs in the 13 meetings entering Mondays play. Zac Gallen is having a great rookie season and should limit the Rockies offense enough to get the job done.

    My Pick: Arizona +113 70%

Purple Row: Diamondbacks 8, Rockies 6: Bullpen sinks potential Rockies win

    MLB

The offense showed up for the Rockies on Monday night, but the pitching didn't as they fell to the Diamondbacks, 8-6. Jake McGee and Chad Bettis allowed three home runs in four batters in the sixth to give up the lead for good. The loss is the sixth in the last seven games for the Rockies and have gone 9-26 since June 30.

The Rockies were winning 6-3 after five innings thanks to a good effort from Peter Lambert. Jake McGee came in and gave up a leadoff home run to Jake Lamb, a single to Josh Rojas (making his major league debut), and a home run to Nick Ahmed to tie the game at six.

Denver Post: Rockies blow early lead, give up three homers in sixth inning in loss to Diamondbacks

    MLB

    0

    Thirteen pitches.

That's all it took for Arizona to overcome the Rockies' 6-3 lead and ultimately convert it into an 8-6 victory Monday night at Coors Field. Needless to say, the 32,160 fans who turned out were not a very happy group.

The Rockies were, by the way, attempting to win back-to-back games for the first time since July 25-26 at Washington and Cincinnati.

Trouble began when lefty Jake McGee relieved starter Peter Lambert to begin the sixth inning and promptly gave up a solo home run to Jake Lamb, a single to Josh Rojas (the first hit of his big-league career) and a two-run homer to Nick Ahmed.
