I expect the Twins to put a halt to this 6 game win streak of Cleveland. I think the Twins came off the gas leading into the all-star break and will get back on track here tonight.

I like the Twins here with Gibson on the mound. Even after his last start where Mike Clevinger shut down the god awful Kansas City Royals offense, this si a different kind of test that I dont think he is ready to pass. The Indians are just 2-9 in Clevingers last 11 starts against a team with a winning record. And only 1-5 in Clevingers last 6 home starts against a team with a winning record as well. The Twins come into that game averaging the second most hits in the league and slashing .272/.336/.497 at the plate. This spells trouble for me and a lot of value for the Twins to come out on top behind Kyle Gibson.

The Twins have the best offense in the league but the Indians are favorites here for a reason. Look for Clevinger to continue his dominance over the lineup for the Twins (who may be without Kepler) in the opener to pick up a low-scoring victory.

Gibson's schedule will stabilize after a chaotic few weeks before the All-Star break, when he pitched an inning of relief and served as an opener on short rest. His 3.4 strikeout-walk ratio was the highest first-half mark of his career. Clevinger has ran hot and cold all season and hard to know what to expect but I give him the edge over Gibson here tonight but the Indians offense is always a concern and the Twins have the best offense in all of MLB. I think Gibson will do enough to keep the Indians in check and the Twins offense will do the rest.

Fansided: Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Indians series preview

Throughout the first half of the season, the Minnesota Twins have felt comfortable on top of the American League Central division. Almost leading from wire-to-wire, the Twins have seen their lead atop the division balloon up to 11 1/2 games and the Indians never seemed like a threat to the point where there were rumors of Cleveland waving the white flag at the trade deadline.

Just as the Twins seemed to have a chokehold on the division, the Indians began to heat up. Cleveland has put together a record of 22-8 in their past 30 games and has gone from being 29-30 to 50-38 at the All-Star break.
