Wind will be slightly blowing out and rainy, but I like Strahm to keep the bats of Colorado in check tonight and the Padres offense is struggling to put up runs. Plus money here with Padres +130 is worth a look but I think the best bet is UNDER 11.5.60%

I will look for the Rockies to get the win here at home. The Rocks have played well at home where they have won 13 of their last 16 games against teams with losing records and their last five games against NL West opponents. Jon Gray doesn't have bad numbers against this Padres team and actually matches up well with all the right handed hitters. The Padres have struggled on the road, losing four of their last five games. I like the Rockies to jump all over the Padres pitching and get the win here.60%

I love the Rockies in this spot. Sure Gray is kind of spotty and either looks amazing or looks like shit, but he's facing a right handed heavy lineup where he has a 52% ground ball rate and a 29.2% strike out rate. Things are kind of tricky when you look at Matt Strahms numbers because he gives up a wOBA of .404 to left handed batters and a high ISO of .198 to right handed batters. He's coming off a horrible outing against the Marlins and now he has to go to the place where pitchers go to die. He throws a slider 35% of the time and I think that will get him in trouble if he doesn't adapt to the altitude because his ball wont break like he's used too and I love all the rockies bats here. I'll take the rockies at -130 and I hope Arenado is in the lineup after getting plunked in the arm yesterday60%

Colorado Rockies (75% consensus). The status of Colorado star Nolan Arenado will be determined Thursday, sometime before the Rockies open a four-game home series against the San Diego Padres. Arenado was plunked on his left foreman by Cole Hamels of the Chicago Cubs during Wednesday's 10-1 loss and later departed with a painful bruise... http://bit.ly/2E6ICS7

SignOnSanDiego.com: Rockies rip Strahm, Padres
Matt Strahm's introduction to Coors Field on Thursday night was fairly standard.
Before he took the mound, the Padres had staked him a two-run lead on a couple doubles (one well hit, one just where no one was) and three singles (one scorched on the ground, one through a hole, one flared to an unmanned patch of grass).
By the time his first inning a mile high was in the books, the Padres trailed by a run.
The left-hander would last just 3 1/3 innings in what would end up a 9-6 Rockies victory in the opener of a four-game series.

Thursday's game is a must-win for the Padres, who come in on a four-game losing streak after being swept by the San Francisco Giants. They're now two games under .500 and struggling both offensively and defensively. In their last game, they committed three errors. San Diego has had a brutal June so far, losing most of their games this month and often because of their own flubs.
