  • I love the Twins Run Line -1.5 in this one. I fully expect Tommy Milone to get blown to bits in this one. He has a 5.11 ERA in his career in this park and the Twins have the best offense in the league. I will look for the Twins to score runs at will against this Seattle pitching. Jose Berrios has been the ace of the Twins and Minnesota is 25-6 in his last 31 home starts. The Mariners have not been that great on offense since their first 15 games of the year and I dont see that changing here vs Berrios. Take the Twins to win this one easily by 4 or 5 runs at th least

    My Pick: Minnesota -220 60%

U.S.S. Mariner: Game 71, Mariners at Twins

Gerson Bautista/Tommy Milone vs. Jose Berrios, 5:10pm

It's rough out there for us few, proud Mariners-watchers. A grand process is underway, I'm sure, but it doesn't make spending 3 hours a night with them feel any less bizarre. After last night's loss, the M's are 28-42, a horrible record that feels worse both because of the M's 13-2 start and because that start makes catching up to the Royals/Orioles/Marlins/Blue Jays for the #1 overall pick feel *almost* as impossible as winning a wild card. We can tune in to see how the young core is faring, but Mitch Haniger's just out of the hospital, JP Crawford is still out, Marco Gonzales and Yusei Kikuchi are in free-fall, and even Brandon Brennan is slumping.

  • @Mariners • 2w Mariners can't hold off league-leading Twins

The Seattle Mariners pulled into Target Field in Minneapolis to face a Minnesota Twins team that leads all of major league baseball. After taking a step back in 2019, the Mariners bring a vastly different roster to the Twin Cities.

A quick comparison of yesterday's lineup to the one that visited Minneapolis in 2018 shows a team that has undergone significant change.

    1 M. Smith, CF 1 D. Gordon, CF
    3 R. Cano, 2B 3 E. Encarnacion, DH
    5 K.

The Seattle Times: One less player on the crowded Mariners injured list: Dee Gordon returns to the lineup vs. the Twins

MINNEAPOLIS -- A new list sat in front of manager Scott Servais. In his careful penmanship, he had detailed out the varying statuses of his 10 players on the injured list and was going to read them to start his Tuesday afternoon pregame media session.

"I'm only doing this for the first game of every series," he said.

The list got one player shorter than the previous time he resorted to compiling it. Earlier in the day, the Mariners activated second baseman Dee Gordon from the injured list. He was immediately inserted into the starting lineup, batting eighth.
