  • I like the Rays here to get another win at home. They are coming into this one with a lot of confidence as they have won five out of their last six games. They just took three of four at Fenway Park this past weekend and need to keep playing well to keep pace with the Yankees. The Athletics have proven that they are an inconsistent baseball team, losing games they shouldnt and winning games they were not suppose to. But at the moment they are trending in the wrong direction winning only four out of their last ten games. We also note that Mike Fiers struggles on the road where he holds an ugly 6.06 ERA, and the Rays continue to receive a steady contribution from multiple hitters. The Rays are averaging 4.9 runs in their last ten games, and they always seem to have a different hitter stepping up when they need it the most. Go with the better team at home here

  • ***DOG OF THE DAY*** Two offenses that are statistically similar and I've got more faith in Stanek than I do Fiers in this matchup. Give me the better team with the better hurler here today. Tampa +150.

    My Pick: Tampa Bay +153

(67% consensus). Brandon Lowe hardly cuts an imposing figure at 6 feet and 185 pounds, but that hasn't stopped the 24-year-old from flexing his muscles at the plate throughout much of the season. After belting his third homer in his last two contests, Lowe looks to lower the boom once again on Tuesday when the Tampa Bay Rays vie for a series victory over the visiting Oakland Athletics... http://bit.ly/2J48iCE

  • TBO Rays: Worlds collide for Emilio Pagan as Athletics visit Rays

ST. PETERSBURG -- Emilio Pagan is on his third club in as many years, and this week he gets to welcome former Oakland teammates to his newest home in Tampa Bay.

Pagan is off to a scorching start with the Rays, posting a 0.82 ERA over 22 innings of work. The hard-throwing right-hander has surrendered only 12 hits and five walks to opposing hitters this season. Pagan attributes his success with the Rays to pitching in good matchups against opposing hitters.

"The communication here is really good," Pagan said. "They kind of let us know what to expect going into a series, who we're going to face and what spots in the lineup to be ready for.
