    St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Light-hitting Cardinals pounded by Royals as Wacha allows six runs in third

    Brad Keller had posted four losses and two no-decisions in his previous six starts when he took the mound at Busch Stadium on Wednesday for the first game of a doubleheader.

    However, the Kansas City righthander was able to stifle the Cardinals, holding them to two hits in seven innings, and the Royals battered Michael Wacha for seven runs to post an 8-2 win.

    Keller arrived with a 2-5 record and 4.66 ERA. His ERA over his previous five starts was 8.11. In his first career start against the Cardinals, he allowed only a second-inning single by Matt Wieters and an eighth-inning single by Paul Goldschmit, who was the last batter he faced.

    St. Louis Post-Dispatch: With severe weather approaching, Cards postpone game, schedule Wednesday doubleheader vs. Royals

    The threat of inclement weather prompted the Cardinals to preemptively postpone Tuesday night's game against the Kansas City Royals and reschedule the game for an interleague, day-night doubleheader Wednesday.

    The Cardinals on Twitter that they will have a 12:15 p.m. first pitch for the first game Wednesday at Busch Stadium, and a nightcap will follow with a scheduled first pitch of 6:45 p.m. St. Louis time. Tickets for Tuesday night's game will be good for Wednesday's night game, the team announced.

    The Cardinals are returning from a 2-4 road swing through Atlanta and Texas that has contributed to a losing stretch that began in the previous home stand.
