  • ESPN.com: Sources: Ja Morant to declare for NBA draft

    Murray State sophomore guard Ja Morant will declare for the 2019 NBA draft at a news conference Wednesday, sources confirmed to ESPN.

    Morant, whose electric performance powered the Racers' first-round win over Marquette in the NCAA tournament, on Tuesday became the first Murray State player to be named a first-team Associated Press All-American.

    The 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard is the No. 2 prospect in ESPN's draft ratings. He averaged 24.5 points, 10 assists -- tops in the nation -- and 5.7 rebounds per game.

    Morant is scheduled to make his announcement at 7 p.

    MILWUAKEE -- Giannis Antetokounmpo's troublesome right ankle is acting up again.

    With just under eight minutes left in the Bucks on Thursday night game against the Clippers, Antetokounmpo threw down a dunk that gave the Bucks a 108-91 lead. As he retreated, Antetokounmpo collided with Garrett Temple and fell down clutching his right ankle.

    The Bucks went on to defeat the Clippers 128-118. Antetokounmpo finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes of playing time. He did not return to the game, instead sitting on the bench and occasionally standing to gingerly walk the sidelines and test his ankle.

    Williamson grabbed his right knee in pain after slipping awkwardly and falling when his left Nike basketball shoe fell apart as he planted hard while dribbling near the free throw line.

    LEXINGTON, Ky. -- When Southern Illinois coach Barry Hinson set about preparing his team to face No. 2 Kentucky on Friday night, he skipped the gymnasium and headed straight to a home improvement store.

    "We may be the only college basketball team that's going through the landscaping aisle at Lowe's to help us be a better team," Hinson said. "But you do what you can."

    The coach, who has spent weeks preparing SIU to combat Kentucky's front line that goes 6-11, 6-10, 6-8 and 6-8, purchased a giant leaf rake.
