Stanley Cup of Chowder: Recap: Sloppy third period dooms the Bruins in a 3-2 loss to Tampa

(No Streamables tonight, so we'll make do with random GIFs and videos. If you don't see any highlights, they may have been stripped due to you being on mobile. Click the score link to open the highlight.)

David Pastrnak makes a great play to kick the puck to his stick after a bad Ryan McDonagh turnover to open the scoring for the Bruins in the first. 1-0 Bruins.

Great play by Cave to intercept the feed from McDonagh and put a puck on net.

Fansided: Four keys as shorthanded Bruins battle Lightning in Tampa

The Bruins are still battling the injury bug and will be without Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, and Charlie McAvoy for their first tilt against the Lighting tonight in Tampa.

The Bruins have been fighting injury adversity admirably despite some recent setbacks, but the Lightning are pacing the league with 43 points. The Bs will need their best to survive the Lightning storm and secure two points.

    Bruins' Line Juggling

Bruce Cassidy can't seem to find the right formula to sustain success for the Bs.

    Tampa Bay Lightning
(72% consensus). The Boston Bruins may finally be feeling the effects of an injury-plagued roster and will try to manage a split in their swing through the Sunshine State when they visit the first-place Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night in an Atlantic Division battle. The Bruins have dropped two straight, including a 5-0 setback at Florida on Tuesday, with All-Star center Patrice Bergeron and three top-six defensemen unavailable...

Stanley Cup of Chowder: Who's playing for the Bruins against Tampa?

Bruce Cassidy has elected to shake things up a bit for tonight's Bruins vs. Lightning match-up.

The main points: Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson is in, Chris Wagner is out, Steve Kampfer is in, Connor Clifton is out.

Per the Bruins' Twitter account, JFK is going to play with Noel Acciari and Ryan Donato. The rest of the lines are a guess from yours truly.

Ryan Donato - Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson - Noel Acciari

We'll see! That bottom six could end up being a grab bag, or Nordstrom could end up back on the first line.

Bruins Daily: Game Day Preview: Bruins at Lightning

Entering any tilt against the Tampa Bay Lighting with three regulation losses in the last four games is already tough enough. Doing so with an injury-riddled lineup and a struggling offense makes things that much harder.

That's exactly what the Bruins face in their second-round rematch with their Atlantic Division foes Thursday night in Tampa.

The Bruins are fresh off a spirited practice following their ugly 5-0 loss to the Panthers Tuesday night in Sunrise. Yet, Bruce Cassidy only has minor changes in store for a team struggling to put the puck in the net in Patrice Bergeron's absence.

  • Raw Charge: Boston Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning: Can we keep outscoring our issues?

    Time: 7:30 pm Eastern Time

    Location: Amalie Arena

    Broadcast/Streaming: SunS, FSDT

Our team is weird, guys. The Tampa Bay Lightning doesn't seem to care whether the goalie in net is AHL quality, backup quality, or Vezina-nominated -- they still figure out a way to outscore his goals-against and win. Since Andrei Vasilevskiy's foot fracture was reported on November 15, Louis Domingue (and, let's be honest, the rest of his team) has made an impressive run of it, winning nine games and losing two. And Tuesday night, Eddie Pasquale added his first NHL win to the mix.

    Game notes

This rematch of last spring's Eastern Conference Semifinal doesn't exactly come at a great time for the Bruins . The Lightning have won four games in a row and sit atop the NHL standings, while it seems like the rash of injuries is finally starting to catch up with the worn-down Bruins.
