Silver Seven: Senators lose back-to-back 5-2 games against the Canadiens

    NHL

After being embarrassed two days ago against the Canadiens, the Senators were hoping for a better result at home tonight. Unfortunately, outside of maybe the first 10 minutes of the game, the Sens looked like they didn't belong in this one either. By the time the final horn sounded, the Habs fans (who were more than half the audience) were chanting "Ole Ole Ole", and the Senators were licking their wounds, both metaphorically after losing back-to-back games against their division rivals, and physically after losing both Bobby Ryan and Matt Duchene to injuries.

Silver Seven: Game 29 Preview: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators

    NHL

After seeing their three-game winning streak grind to a halt on Monday night, the Ottawa Senators (12-13-3) will attempt to get the ball rolling again tonight, in their second of two games against the Montreal Canadiens (13-10-5) this week.

The Habs got the best of Ottawa, Monday, when a three-goal second period propelled them to a 5-2 victory. In what amounts to a key divisional matchup, it will be important for the Senators to try to avenge that loss tonight. Montreal currently sits in the final wild card spot in the East, with 31 points, while the Sens are four points back.

    Ottawa Senators
(63% consensus). Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin are proving to be a formidable duo up front and they seek a second straight standout performance when the Montreal Canadiens go for a sweep in the home-and-home set against the host Ottawa Senators on Thursday. Domi and Drouin combined for three goals and three assists as the Canadiens pulled away for a 5-2 victory over Ottawa at home Tuesday for their second win in three games... http://bit.ly/2B2vTTb

Habs Eyes On The Prize: Canadiens vs. Senators game recap: Domi and Drouin lit up the Bell Centre in win over Ottawa

    NHL

On a 1-4-2 stretch going into Tuesday night's game against the Ottawa Senators, the Montreal Canadiens were looking to find results that matched their efforts. Against Carolina, New York, and San Jose, the team had played well for long periods, but some bad luck or momentary lapses hurt them. While they smashed the Rangers on Saturday, they slipped up against the Sharks the following night.

Conversely, the Senators had won their last three games, including a 6-2 drubbing of the Sharks on the night Erik Karlsson returned to Ottawa, making this a matchup of two teams on different runs of form.
