Fear the Fin: Capitals at Sharks: Lines, gamethread, and where to watch
The San Jose Sharks hope to break the hearts of the Washington Capitals tonight, who are on the second game of their trip out West. The Sharks have three high-scoring games in a row to give them confidence; the Capitals got shut out on Tuesday and really have themselves to blame.
The Capitals' third line has some of their most productive players lately, especially Brett Connolly who has had a career year in offensive production. That's not to say that the Sharks can ignore the Capitals' top two lines, but they can't slack when the bottom six come on either.

San Jose Mercury News: Things to know: Erik Karlsson will miss Sharks game vs. Capitals
SAN JOSE -- Erik Karlsson is "getting close." He just isn't close enough to rejoin the Sharks lineup yet.
Karlsson will miss his ninth straight game with a groin injury when the Sharks take on the Washington Capitals at SAP Center on Thursday. The Sharks defenseman skated for roughly 20 minutes after the Sharks morning practice Thursday morning, practicing cuts, hard stops and a variety of turns.
The decision to keep Karlsson off the ice for another game isn't entirely surprising. Karlsson just returned to practice on Wednesday, his first full skate with the team since Jan.
Fear the Fin: Capitals at Sharks Preview: Will Erik Karlsson make his return against reigning champions?
The San Jose Sharks (34-16-7, 1st Pacific) host the Washington Capitals (31-19-7, 2nd Metropolitan) tonight at SAP Center on the hunt for their seventh win in a row. These two teams last met three weeks ago, capping off a less-than-stellar road trip for the Sharks with a 7-6 overtime victory heading into the All-Star Break. The game featured hat tricks from both Alex Ovechkin and Tomas Hertl.
The Sharks have scored at least five goals in each of their last three games and they haven't allowed more than two goals against since last facing the Caps.
