BYU vs UMass Predictions
*Consensus from 1211 predictions.
After two tough losses in back-to-back weeks against Northern Illinois and Boise State, the Cougars will come into this game looking to vent some frustration. UMass is allowing a healthy 265 rush yards per game and opposing teams are averaging 41.4 points per game against the Minutemen defense so far this year. Squally Canada and Lopini Katoa have combined for nine rushing scored this season and the BYU defense has shown up in recent weeks, which has me leaning towards the Cougars and the Unders in what should be a defensive low scoring game today. Score Prediction: BYU 34- UMASS 17

Fansided: BYU Football: Takeaways from the win at UMass
BYU Football did what they were supposed to do on Saturday morning: take down an inferior team and do it convincingly.
Of course the convincingly part didn't come until the second half, but the Cougars got their revenge on UMass, beating them at Gillette Stadium 35-16.
They won a game on the east coast. And one in the morning. That doesn't happen very often, no matter how much more talented BYU is over the other team.
After a shaky start the defense dominated, and after an even shakier start the offense finally figured out where the end zone was.
Deseret News: BYU Cougars start slow but rebound to roll past UMass Minutemen, 35-16
FOXBOROGUH, Mass. -- The BYU Cougars fell behind 10-0 in the first quarter but rebounded and then used a strong third quarter to propel them to a 35-16 victory on Saturday.
Up 14-10 at halftime, the Cougars extended their lead to three touchdowns in the third frame. In all, BYU scored 35 unanswered points before the Minutemen added a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Zach Wilson finished 14 of 22 for 167 yards and two touchdowns, both of which went to Talon Shumway. Aleva Hifo scored twice and Matt Hadley added another for the Cougars.
Defensively, Sione Takitaki finished with a game-high 13 tackles to lead a strong BYU effort on that side of the ball.
Vanquish the Foe: BYU overcomes slow start to win comfortably over UMass
After digging themselves into a 10-0 deficit, BYU scored 35 straight points to beat UMass 35-16 at Gillette Stadium.
BYU's defense smothered UMass after a slow start, and the offensive line came alive in the second half to open up holes in the running game and give Zach Wilson enough time to make throws downfield.
Zach Wilson was an efficient 14/22 for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 53 rushing yards. BYU ran for 221 rushing yards on the day, led by 69 yards and a touchdown from Matt Hadley.
Linebackers Isaiah Kaufusi and Sione Takitaki were all over the field for BYU, as the duo each finished with 14 tackles.

Vanquish the Foe: BYU opens as double-digit favorite over UMass
After a heartbreaking loss to Boise State, BYU (4-5) will look to keep its bowl hopes alive as they head out east to take on UMass (4-6).
Vegas released its opening line for the game and BYU opened as a 13-point favorite over the Minutemen. The game will be played at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.
With a home game versus lowly New Mexico and the Holy War at Rice Eccles Stadium remaining, Saturday's matchup will go a long way in determining BYU's bowl eligibility.
UMass is similar in a lot of ways to Hawaii, in that they have a high-flying passing attack and anemic defense.
