On the latest episode of Talking Friars, I give my thoughts on the Padres series against the Nationals. Juan Soto returning to D.C. was supposed to be the biggest story coming out of the weekend but of course we all know it wasn't. Trent Grisham is also getting hot at the bottom of the order and this team looks like they're as strong as ever in the clubhouse.
NEW POD: Soto's return to D.C. wasn't the biggest Padres story this weekend
-Giving props to Wil, Snell and Grisham -More on what we've learned since Friday about Tatis' suspension

Despite falling behind early and then again in the middle innings, the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied late to earn a 7-5 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Jackie Robinson Day.
After a six-inning effort by Julio Urias, the trio of Jimmy Nelson, Dennis Santana and David Price combined to toss three scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
Nelson and Santana each threw a 1-2-3 innings before the ball was handed to Price for the final three outs. The left-hander allowed back-to-back singles to begin the ninth but set down the next three batters in order to record his first career save in the regular season.
Every time we think the Dodgers can't get any better from here, they do, and now they're just showing off to the rest of the league. On Saturday, there were 6 homers hit by 6 different players in one night while the club extended its winning streak to 12 for the first time since 1976.
Despite Sunday's loss, the Dodgers have proven they are an absolute force to be reckoned with.
There's a few things that come to mind about what could be even better but maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself. As far as Gavin Lux's perspective goes, the team is just taking it one day at a time.
The Los Angeles Dodgers retained several key free agents this past offseason, but saw the likes of Kike Hernandez and Joc Pederson sign elsewhere as they sought bigger roles.
After a seven seasons in L.A., Pederson joined the Chicago Cubs on a one-year contract. He essentially replaced Kyle Schwarber, who was non-tendered earlier in the winter. With the Dodgers and Cubs meeting for a three-game series at Wrigley Field this week, Pederson had an opportunity to catch up with some of his former teammates.
"I've known Joc a long time and was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with him," Justin Turner said.
