  • The Nationals have lost both of Strasburgs last two starts where he was not that bad in the last one and they have won 41 of his last 60 home starts and that is a trend that I think continues in this game. Bauer will be decent, but Strasburg will have the better outing and should be able to lead the Nationals to the win in this spot.

  • Reds are 1-4 in it's last 5 at Washington, and under has hit in 11 of of their last 15 games against NL east division opponents. Already winning yesterday's game 3-1, the run line for the Nationals are at -1.5 and +135 in most books, I would opt for that compared to ML just to stick it to your sports-book. If I had to choose between the three betting options, the run line would be my lock. Best of luck & feel free to share your predictions, comments are more valuable than agrees!

Federal Baseball: Washington Nationals sweep three-game set with Cincinnati Reds with 17-7 blowout win in the finale...

    MLB

A ten-run inning, as they often do, blew this one wide open with the Washington Nationals piling it on the bottom of the fifth inning today, scoring, and scoring, and scoring on the Cincinnati Reds in what ended up a 17-7 win which gave the Nats a sweep of the three-game set in Nationals Park.

Strasburg vs the Reds: Stephen Strasburg bounced back from a rough outing against the D-backs in Chase Field (9 H, 9 ER in 4 1/3 IP) with a solid start against the Mets in Citi Field last Friday, holding the Nationals' NL East rivals to four hits and three runs in seven innings.

Cincinnati.com: Cincinnati Reds lose their 3rd consecutive game as bats go quiet in loss to Washington Nationals

    MLB

    (Photo: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports)

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Pitching in his seventh Major League season, Alex Wood has avoided home runs throughout most of his career.

Making his fourth start with the Reds, it's been an area where he's struggled. Wood surrendered solo home runs to Juan Soto and Brian Dozier in the fourth inning, both in two-strike counts. It was the first time he allowed two homers in an inning since Sept. 26, 2017, a stretch of 36 appearances and 30 starts.

Wood didn't have much room for error with the way Washington Nationals starter Joe Ross kept the ball on the ground against a hot-hitting Reds lineup in a 3-1 loss at Nationals.

Federal Baseball: Washington Nationals win second straight over Cincinnati Reds, third straight overall, 3-1 final in D.C.

    MLB

Joe Ross set a new mark for consecutive scoreless innings by a Washington Nationals' pitcher this season, with 17 1/3 overall after he was done with six scoreless tonight in a second consecutive Nats' win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Ross finally allowed a run with two out in the top of the seventh inning, in the second of three with the Reds in D.C., but the Nationals were up 3-1 at that point, and they held on, winning their third straight game overall.

Ross vs the Reds: Was the Joe Ross of the last two outings (11 1/3 scoreless) a new Joe Ross, or did he just go up against two scuffling teams (the D-backs and Giants) at the right time?

Red Reporter: Aristides Aquino does not homer, Reds lose to Nationals 3-1

    MLB

Nick Senzel doubled and scored thanks to the RBI single from Jose Iglesias, and Lucas Sims fired a pair of scoreless innings of relief. Heck, Bobert Stevietoine tossed a scoreless frame, too.

The fact is, though, that these Cincinnati Reds were largely punchless on the night against the Washington Nationals in one of the more ho-hum games in recent memory.

Key Plays Washington plated a run in the Bottom of the 1st, but it took a bit longer than that for it to register with the FS-Ohio crew.

Washington Times: Nationals rely on long ball again in win over Reds

    MLB

The Nationals' home run celebrations reached a new level Tuesday night.

A pair of long balls in the fourth inning fueled a 3-1 victory at home against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Nationals are now 64-55 and began the night six games back of first-place Atlanta in the National League East. However, the Nationals were in the lead in the wild card race.

Nationals left fielder Juan Soto (ankle) and second baseman Brian Dozier (salmonella), who both missed Monday's game with various ailments, hit solo homers against Reds lefty Alex Wood in the fourth to give Washington a 3-0 lead.
