JDL and Rahul are at the game to sneak a bobblehead!

This freaking bullpen usage. You can see how many pitches the relief guys have thrown in the past six games! I love it. It's going in all the Gamethreads from now on:

Rahul also sent me a nifty little song, which is today's song:

The Crawfish Boxes: Game Recap: Astros Lose a Sloppy One to the Angels, 9-6

    MLB

For a few innings, it looked like the Astros' decision to use Josh James as an Opener and Framber Valdez as a Headliner might pay off. The Astros jumped out to an early lead in the first without any hits, with Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez, Yuli Gurriel, and Josh Reddick all working two-out walks (and with a wild pitch thrown in for good measure).

Things somehow got worse for Angels starter Griffin Canning in the second; after a lead-off strikeout, it went: walk, single (runner to third), wild pitch (run scored), walk (wild pitch, runner advances to third), RBI single (runner to third).

The Crawfish Boxes: Series Preview #31: Houston Astros @ Los Angeles Angels

    MLB

Hey everyone, so I had a bit of a personal emergency yesterday and wasn't able to start writing this until late. Because of that I'm going to do something unusual and cut out most, but not all, of the Astros coverage. I'm sure most of you are up to date on them. Anyways, let's get down to the preview.

Houston arrives in California for their second straight four-game series. This time they'll take on the Angels, who we just saw in Houston prior to the All Star break.
