  • I like the Braves here to get the win on the road. They play well away from Atlanta and I think they get game 1 in this series. Atlanta is 36-17 in its last 53 overall, 13-3 in its last 16 on the road against opponents with losing home records, 6-1 in its last seven against the National League West, and 18-8 in their last 26 road games. The Padres are 0-4 in their last four at home, and 0-4 in Lamets last four home starts. Not a good sign there. Ill take the Braves here

  • These are two pretty good pitchers throwing in a pitcher-friendly ballpark and I dont see 9 runs being scored here tonight. Atlanta wins 5-3 type of game.

(68% consensus). The All-Star break came at the right time for Fernando Tatis Jr., as the San Diego Padres rookie shortstop used the four days off to rest a sore left elbow in advance of Fridays home series opener against the Atlanta Braves. Hit on the elbow by a pitch Saturday, Tatis responded Sunday by becoming the youngest Padre to record a multi-homer game with two longballs, the 13th and 14th homers of the season for the 20-year-old who is hitting .327 with a 1.013 OPS... http://bit.ly/2E6GXfj

Talking Chop: Braves roll out regular lineup for series opener in San Diego

    MLB

No surprises for the Atlanta Braves as Brian Snitker will roll out his regular lineup for Friday's series opener in San Diego. Brian McCann will catch Dallas Keuchel and hit seventh behind Austin Riley.

Fernando Tatis Jr. will lead off for the Padres and will be followed by Eric Hosmer and Manny Machado. Dinelson Lamet will be making his second start of the season after missing all of 2018 due to Tommy John surgery.

First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports South.
