  • Dodgers have a +129 Run differential in the league and they rock lefties. Maeda has been great as of late and against Righties he's only giving up a .182 Batting Avg and most the big bats in the Boston lineup are right-handed. The Red Sox Bullpen is terrible too. Love LA in this one. Boston is overvalued at this point in the season.

I'll take the Dodgers here. They seem to lose their way heading into the all-star break but, with Maeda on the mound they will begin their march to the post season.

      • Getting the Red Sox at even here at home is a steal. Theyre the much better team, and theyve won four straight games entering this one while the Dodgers have lost three straight and Boston has the edge on the mound tonight. Rodriguez has looked good in his last couple of outings, and the Red Sox are 24-8 in his last 32 home games. Theres simply no reason for this line to be close to even. Boston should be -150 or more IMO.

This should be a telling series for both teams. The Red Sox closed out the first half looking good and playing some of their best baseball. On the other hand the Dodgers showed some weaknesses and broke down towards the end of the first half. I see that trend continuing because LA is 0-6 in their last six trips to Boston and Kenta Maeda has struggled on the road this year with a 5.52 ERA. That is not good news for the Dodgers as they are about to face a Boston team that has averaged 8.00 rpg over their last 10 games. I think the Dodgers are at a disadvantage with how their roster is built for inter-league play. As displayed in the recent World Series Loses for them (not saying this was the reason). Gimme the Sox at home here in game 1

***UNDER 10.5*** - Maeda seeks his first win since May 31. Hes taken three losses in six starts since then, but has still compiled a 4.05 ERA and held hitters to a .182 average in that span. It was an up-and-down first half for Rodriguez, who shined at times but also allowed at least four earned runs in eight of his 18 starts. He has a solid 3.75 ERA since May 26. All things considered I think this will be a lower scoring game than Vegas is predicting with their 10.5 O/U here tonight.

            My Pick: Under 10.5 50%

Over the Monster: Red Sox vs. Dodgers Series Preview

The Dodgers are off to a good start in their quest to win a third consecutive National League Pennant as they own baseball's best record as well as the best run differential.

                60-32

                Head-to-Head Record

Down. It's kind of hard to know how much to read into trends coming out of the All-Star break, though it's fair to wonder how much to read into trends at any points of the year. Regardless, the Dodgers were scuffling a bit heading into the break. They had lost their previous three games to the Padres and won just one of their last four series.

Fansided: Red Sox vs Dodgers World Series rematch: What's changed since October?

With the first half of the season behind us, a 2018 World Series re-match is upon us. The Los Angeles Dodgers are a formidable opponent with the highest run-differential in baseball. The Boston Red Sox have been an up-and-down team without a solid direction.

Both have high-octane offenses that rank in the top-6 in runs scored, but the Dodgers have pitched much better this season than the Red Sox have.

The Dodgers have a real shot to make it to their third straight World Series. They have been fantastic, despite injuries to key players like A.
