I've been saying for a while that Odorizzi has some regression comeing and not to pay attention to that 2.58 ERA. His Siera has been hovering over 4 all season and his ERA is a 7.2 his last two games. I'm not saying he's horrible by any means but he's not elite. I think he gets hit around today and I really like the rays in this one.

My Pick: Tampa Bay -112 60%

  • Playing the *****First 5 Under 5 at -106****** with these two on the mound. Odorizzi has a 2.60 F5 ERA, Morton's is 2.63, which are two of the best in the league. Over the L20 days, Twins are 20th in F5 runs andTB is 25th. TB is also 24th in OPS vs RHP during this span and the Under is common ground for a Tampa game in the month of June. Playoff matchup preview with two of the unsung heroes of these pitching staffs going.

  • DRaysBay: Rays 4, Twins 6: Rays find new ways to crush our spirits

I don't know about you, but I've had just about all the attendance, new ballpark, and split-city talk as I can take. Round about 8PM, I was ready for baseball. Sure, the Rays are skidding right now, going 2-6 on this road trip, but that's no bulk guy taking the hill; it's the Rays stopper, Charlie Morton, taking on Jake Odorizzi and the Minnesota Roccos. It's gonna be okay.

We didn't even have to send out our two catcher lineup. Lookit this, it's almost like a real ball club.

Okay, sure, we go in order in the first, but Pham has a nice at bat before getting called out on strikes, and Choi hits it kinda hard to first.

Fansided: Nelson Cruz lifts Minnesota Twins to series win over Tampa Bay

The Minnesota Twins welcomed a clutch 2-out base clearing double from slugger Nelson Cruz to secure the 6-4 win.

Jake Odorizzi would get the start for the Minnesota Twins facing off against Tampa Bay Rays starter Charlie Morton. With an injury-plagued Twins line-up, an ankle injury to All-Star candidate Eddie Rosario is the last thing Twins fans were hoping to see. There was an encouraging sign in seeing Max Kepler enter the game late as a defensive substitution.

    Twin Takeaway - The good

After Eddie Rosario made his case for All-Star consideration yesterday, today that performance came from DH Nelson Cruz.

  • DRaysBay: Rays 4, Twins 9: The Rays played baseball today

    MLB

The Rays are a baseball team who plays 100% of their home games in the Tampa Bay area.

    For now.

Today, they opened a series against the Twins, a baseball team who plays 100% of their home games in Minneapolis.

Blake Snell, a pitcher for the Rays, splits his time throwing fastballs and curveballs. Today, however, he felt he could achieve more success if he spent more time throwing fastballs.

Call it a more sustainable model for progress, if you will.

But that's not quite what happened. The Twins jumped out in front in the top of the second on a single by Willians Astudillo, and added three more in the third on a home run by Jonathan Schoop and singles by Eddie Rosario and CJ Cron.
