  • I love the Rockies here in this contest. Rockies starter German Marquez enters this one with confidence after tossing eight innings of one-run ball at Dodger Stadium in his previous start. On top of that, Marquez tallied a complete game shutout against the Giants in the only meeting this season. San Francisco is very inconsistent offensively, and are struggling to find pieces that stick.
I fully expect the Rockies line up to torch Samardzija in this one. Gimmie the Rockies here

    My Pick: Colorado -137 70%

  • ***OVER 7.5*** This total opened at 8 and went to 7.5 which is a little perplexing. Marquez got touched up 2 games ago against San Diego and Samardzija is in rough stretch as hes posted a 6.15 ERA over his last five starts. I expect to see more offense than what Vegas is predicting here....7.5 doesn't pass the eye test for me.

    My Pick: Over 7.5 60%

Colorado Rockies vs San Francisco Giants on 2019-06-26 added by Covers

Covers community free betting prediction for
    Colorado Rockies
(71% consensus). San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner has drawn most of the attention ahead of next months trade deadline, but closer Will Smith could attract an equal amount of interest. Smith is a perfect 21-for-21 in save opportunities for the last-place Giants, who face the visiting Colorado Rockies on Wednesday in the rubber match of a three-game series... http://bit.ly/2GhFnNX

Purple Row: Rockies 6, Giants 3: David Dahl brilliant in win

    MLB

The Rockies beat the Giants 6-3 in major part to David Dahl and Garrett Hampson. In the third inning, Hampson became the first Rockies starting shortstop to record a hit since Trevor Story went down with his thumb injury a week ago. Hampson also had a double in the seventh that was knocked in by Dahl.

Speaking of David Dahl, you could say that it was David Dahl 5 (+ Tony Wolters 1 on a sacrifice in the fourth), San Francisco Giants 3.

Denver Post: David Dahl's grand slam propels Rockies to first series victory in San Francisco in over two years

    MLB

    0

SAN FRANCISCO -- David Dahl insists he's not paying attention to his standing, or lack thereof, in the all-star voting. He didn't crack the top nine National League outfielders in the primary results, and understands his lack of national profile while playing in a mid-size market certainly doesn't help.

But "underrated" and "overlooked" won't be adequate descriptors for Dahl much longer, not with the numbers he's putting up this year and with the consistently clutch performances like he had again on Wednesday at Oracle Park. The outfielder blasted the Rockies' first-ever grand slam in San Francisco and finished with a career-high five RBIs to lead Colorado to a 6-3 matinee victory.

San Jose Mercury News: Pablo Sandoval showcases power, value at the plate, Giants drop series to Rockies

    MLB

SAN FRANCISCO -- Every time Giants pitchers Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith take the mound, their uncertain futures with the franchise become a hot topic of conversation.

With strong performances on Tuesday night against Colorado, Bumgarner and Smith boosted their respective trade values and reminded Giants fans what the club will miss if each player is dealt this summer.

In Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Rockies, another player who might be on the move later this summer showcased his abilities, but it's not as clear whether Pablo Sandoval will find himself in the heat of a playoff race this fall.

Rockies down two runs? Someone better call Dahl.

With the Giants up 2-0 on Wednesday, Colorado outfielder David Dahl blasted a grand slam in the top of the third inning to give the Rockies a 4-2 lead.

The bases-loaded home run was the first in Rockies history in the city of San Francisco.

David Dahl's 398ft, opposite-field grand slam is the #Rockies' first-ever grand slam in the city of San Francisco.

McCovey Chronicles: Giants vs. Rockies, 6/26

    MLB

Hopefully, we've all fully absorbed Bumgarner's brilliant start last night because it's Samardzija Time!

One thing about The Shark's month of June worth watching is that in his four starts, he's allowed 1, 3, 4, and 5 earned runs (yes in that order). Will he swing back around today to register just 2 earned runs allowed to complete the set or will he go for 6?

    RF -- Charlie Blackmon
    CF -- David Dahl
    3B -- Nolan Arenado
    1B -- Daniel Murphy
    LF -- Raimel Tapia
    2B -- Ryan McMahon
    C -- Tony Wolters
    SS -- Garrett Hampson
    SP -- German Marquez

The Brandon Belt leadoff experiment generated an 0-for-3 with a strikeout and sacrifice fly, which isn't exciting, but there you go.

San Jose Mercury News: Giants ride Bumgarner's 11 strikeouts to win over Rockies

    MLB

SAN FRANCISCO -- Madison Bumgarner looked like a pitcher ready for a playoff push Tuesday night in a 4-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at Oracle Park.

Coming off a poor start against the Dodgers, Bumgarner (4-7) gave up two earned runs through six innings with three walks and 11 strikeouts. The smart money has Bumgarner being dealt to a contender before the July 31 deadline.

The Giants (34-44) got perfect relief help (nine up, nine down) from Sam Dyson, Tony Watson and Will Smith, the latter with his 21st save in 21 opportunities. Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-1), in his first game since 2016 after undergoing Tommy John surgery, was the losing pitcher.

Purple Row: Giants 4, Rockies 2: Madison Bumgarner strikes out 11 to beat Rox

    MLB

The Rockies lost to the Giants 4-2 on Wednesday night to drop the second game of the three game series. Madison Bumgarner struck out 11 Rockies in just six innings of work on a night when the offense, in general, didn't show up. The Rockies' record now stands at 41-38

    Spot start ideal

Chi Chi Gonzalez gave the Rockies about what you want from a spot start. He pitched five innings and gave up three runs. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. The peripherals are less notable here -- four strikeouts and four walks, in case you're interested -- because the Rockies really shouldn't rely too much on Chi Chi.

Denver Post: Rockies' bats sputter against southpaw Madison Bumgarner as Giants beat Colorado

    MLB

    0

SAN FRANCISCO -- Let the trade rumors swirl amid the rebuilding, last-place Giants. Out here in the China Basin, when local pitching legend and former World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner takes the hill, all that chatter is just a distraction from his dominance.

Such was the case Tuesday night, when Bumgarner fanned 11 batters to overshadow Chi Chi Gonzalez's decent Rockies debut as the Giants beat Colorado 4-2.

"He was doing his MadBum thing," manager Bud Black said. "It was a little different style from early MadBum, but there's still life to the fastball, a slider/cutter that comes into play against the lefties, and he pitched in well and pitched well with the ball away.
