I like the Red Sox here to grind out a win. Despite the crushing loss where they gave up a 6 run lead the Red Sox have been starting to put it together. Their bats are really coming alive and they are starting to get long outings from their starting pitchers. Their Bullpen is another story tho. But if we look at the other side, the young Blue Jays are struggling, dropping six out of their last nine games, and they face a tough match up against Rick Porcello. The right-hander has limited the Rangers and Twins to only a combined two runs in 13.2 innings in his last two starts, so I expect him to neutralize an inexperienced Blue Jays lineup. Lastly, the Red Sox have been known to feast on poor teams, sporting a 25-13 record against a team with a losing record this season80%

Stroman is coming off an outing against the Angels on Tuesday in which he pitched into the eighth inning for the second time this season and allowed three or fewer runs for the 12th time. Porcello looked sharp in his last start, stifling the Twins over seven shutout innings (four hits, eight strikeouts). I really thought this total would be 8.5 or 9 and this should be pitcher's duel with the form of both Stroman and Porcello.50%

Over the Monster: Red Sox - 1, Blue Jays - 6: Marcus Stroman is a Bad, Bad Man. Red Sox Bats Just Bad.
It may not have strictly been a must-win game, but after watching what may be the worst bullpen performance of the entire MLB season, the Red Sox definitely needed a win, just to end the weekend on a positive note. Taking the mound were Rick Porcello and Marcus Stroman.
Early on, it felt like one of the keys to winning today's game would be for Porcello to go at least six innings, and try to keep the bullpen out of this game for as long as possible. Normally that's the strategy anyway for this team, simply because the bullpen is not very good, but this is especially true after last night, after the bullpen gave up 7 runs in the 7th and 8th inning combined, ruining a decent start by Brian Johnson.
Boston.com: Stroman, Gurriel lead Blue Jays over Red Sox 6-1
BOSTON (AP) -- Marcus Stroman pitched six shutout innings, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. had three hits and threw out a runner at the plate, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 6-1 Sunday.
Danny Jansen hit a two-run single and Eric Sogard a solo homer for the Blue Jays, who won the final two games of the three-game series. Rowdy Tellez added two hits and scored twice.
The Red Sox had won eight of nine after taking the series opener Friday on Christian Vazquez's two-run, walk-off homer.
Stroman (5-9) held the Red Sox to five singles -- three coming consecutively in the second inning when Gurriel made his throw from left field -- and struck out six while walking one.
Over the Monster: Red Sox 7, Blue Jays 8: So about that bullpen
For the first six innings of this game, the Red Sox were in complete control. The offense jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the third inning thanks mostly to a five-run second. Brian Johnson would eventually allow just a run over five strong innings of work, giving his team exactly what they were looking for from the lefty in this game. Then, the bullpen came in. It was a disaster for the relief corps in this game. Mike Shawaryn gave up a pair of homers for three runs in the seventh before Matt Barnes came on for a disastrous eighth.
