I was watching MLB quick pitch and kind of had it on in the background. then I heard something that really caught my attention when they asked "can you tell me what team has the longest win streak in the MLB right now?". Naturally I wanted to see who and I was blown away it was the marlins. I guess I missed a few games during that stretch where i could have scored some great value. The nats won in a crazy ass game yesterday and I think they keep it going tonight. I say this because Alcantara has a run and a half difference between his ERA and SIERA which means he has some regression coming and on the other side Corbin has a lower SIERA than his ERA by a small percentage. Corbins difference doesn't really mean much but the fact that both his ERA/SIERA is hovering around 3 means he's been pretty solid and this is just a great match up for him. I hate betting on the Nats when they are large favorites but everything in this game screams a Nationals win

    My Pick: Washington -215 70%

Corbin has been very good this season but did get touched up agains the Mets in his lasting outing. I predicted the Nats would be -150 or so here today but -215 just seems outrageous. I like Alcantara and the Marlins have won 4 out of their last 5. At 2X on your money here today, we've got to take a flyer on the Marlins.

    My Pick: Miami +195

Free Betting Prediction: Washington will Win and the Total will go Under .

Sandy Alcantara threw a complete game two-hitter against the Mets last time out on just 89 pitches. So it stands to reason that he'll get some betting looks today, but it's probably a great spot to fade him. Washington and Patrick Corbin are -225 betting favorites, so we'll have to find a more creative way to fade the young Marlins pitcher.Marlins vs Nationals Game Center. Federal Baseball: Washington Nationals' lineup for 2nd of 4 with the Miami Marlins in D.C.

    MLB

Juan Soto started the series opener with the Miami Marlins with a seven-game hit streak going, over which the Washington Nationals' 20-year-old slugger was 12 for 26 (.462 AVG) with five doubles, a triple, one home run, three walks, and four runs scored, and he had multi-hit games in four of the seven on the streak which took him from .228/.345/.415 to a .268/.374/.490 line after 40 games and 174 PAs in his sophomore season in the majors.

Soto grounded out in his first at bat of the game last night but got hold of a 2-2 changeup from Marlins' starter Pablo Lopez in the third and lined a single to right field to extend the hit streak to eight-straight games.

Fish Stripes: The Marlins and Nationals had a 9 inning battle, which ended in a 12-10 loss for the Fish

    MLB

The Marlins may have lost last night, but the game is certainly a contender for best Marlins game of the season. The Nats and Fish went back and forth each inning. Pitching lovers, yesterday was not the game for you. Both teams combined for a total of 29 hits and 22 runs.

    Pablo Lopez: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 2 HR

The Marlins were able to take an early lead in the first. Brian Anderson nailed a ball way into the left field stands for two runs. The Nationals would come right back with a home run of their own.
