azcentral.com: Adam Jones' bases-loaded walk lifts Diamondbacks over Braves in 10th

    MLB

    By the Associated Press

ATLANTA -- Adam Jones worked a bases-loaded walk against Jesse Biddle in the 10th inning and also homered, lifting the Arizona Diamondbacks over the Atlanta Braves 3-2 on Wednesday night.

Biddle (0-1) filled the bases and then walked Jones on six pitches. Jones also homered in the fourth inning and scored the tying run in the seventh on Ketel Marte's double. Arizona has won a season-best three-straight.

It was just the latest bullpen setback for Atlanta. Closer Arodys Vizcaino had shoulder surgery Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season, heightening pressure from Braves fans to sign free agent closer Craig Kimbrel.

Yahoo! Sports: Walker's 9th-inning homer lifts Diamondbacks past Braves

Christian Walker had three hits, including the go-ahead homer in the ninth inning, to help the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Atlanta Braves 9-6 on Tuesday.

Walker, playing first base while Jake Lamb is out with a strained left calf, led off the ninth with a long, majestic homer, his fifth. It came against Atlanta reliever A.J. Minter (0-2) and put Arizona ahead to stay. Walker was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. He is 6-for-8 over the last two games and lifted his batting average to .294.

Adam Jones followed by doubling in two insurance runs against Jacob Webb, who was making his major league debut for the Braves.

azcentral.com: Christian Walker powers Diamondbacks to comeback win at Braves

    MLB

    By the Associated Press

ATLANTA - Christian Walker homered leading off the ninth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied against the shaky Atlanta bullpen for a 9-6 victory Tuesday night as the Braves squandered a massive, knee-buckling homer by Ronald Acuna Jr. and another strong start by Max Fried.

Johan Camargo's three-run double in the fifth put the Braves ahead. Fried finally gave up his first earned runs of the season but left with a 5-2 lead, only to watch the relievers give it away. Chad Sobotka and Jesse Biddle didn't retire anyone as the Diamondbacks pushed across four runs in the seventh to reclaim the lead.
