• Fansided: Yet Another Oilers Draft Piece

Alongside that you have a Twitter maelstrom either praising the high-heavens or cursing to the lowest levels of Dante's Inferno and frankly, it's all pretty exhausting. I won't sit here and tell you that mine is particularly different. After all, I'm just one guy testing and applying my own draft methodology to try to out-produce actual NHL scouts while having less information, less time and not being paid for it.

While this is my first year writing here, I've been doing something similar on other sites for a few years now and I've done reasonably well since the overhaul of my evaluative priorities back in 2016.

  • Fansided: What Should The Edmonton Oilers Do With Puljujarvi?

The entire hockey world is aware of disgruntled winger Jesse Puljujarvi's desire to be traded away from the Edmonton Oilers.

This comes as somewhat of a surprise. Especially when the player has only 37 points in 139 career NHL games. When you are a player of high draft pedigree like Puljujarvi, that stat is underwhelming.

Perhaps even more surprising is how a player, who has yet to prove anything, could be comfortable with requesting such a hefty demand to the organization.

Let the blame game begin. And there is plenty of it to go around.

  • Fansided: Free Agency: Can The Oilers Replicate The Success of The Blues?

With the draft come and gone and the Oilers picks all spent, the Edmonton Oilers are still left with a number of needs on their active roster for the upcoming season. July 1st will likely be the next likely option to see changes to the Oilers roster. Teams always look to mimic what the last Stanley Cup Champions did and the Blues made a few simple deals in free agency that were crucial in their victory in June.

David Perron Signed July 1st - 4 Years x 4 Million Per Season

The Blues originally lost David Perron in expansion to the Vegas Golden Knights.

  • My NHL Trade Rumors: NHL Rumors: San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Edmonton Oilers

Kevin Kurz: The Sharks could be open to the idea of trading defenseman Brendan Dillon in the right deal. He carries a $3.27 million salary cap hit.

Pierre LeBrun: Pending free agent Joonas Donskoi has told the San Jose Sharks that he's going to be talking to other teams during the interview process. He's not closing the door on a Sharks return. He also thinks that it might be time for a new start.

Kevin Kurz: It wouldn't be a surprise if Sharks trade restricted free agent Joakim Ryan.

  • Fansided: Draft Day: First Round Selection Surprises Many Oilers Fans

Ken Holland decided to take Philip Broberg with their first pick (8th overall) in the draft. The Swedish defense man is known for being a great skater but not much else. He was able to be named Best Defense man in the Tournament during the World's this year which is something. Twitter exploded with surprised fans after the pick despite Oilers interest in the mid round ranked blue liner being leaked days before the draft.

It wasn't so much that Broberg was picked by the Oilers that seemed to surprise fans but that he was picked 8th overall and that many great forwards were still on the board.

  • Fansided: Draft Day 2: Edmonton Selects Big Centre Raphael Lavoie

With the Oilers surprising some fans by drafting another defenseman in the first round, it seemed almost a guarantee that the team would go with a forward in round 2. Raphael Lavoie was projected by many to be a first round selection but the dominant centre falls to the Edmonton Oilers at #38.

The 6'4 right shooting centre played for the Halifax Mooseheads last season, scoring 32 goals and 41 assists in 62 games. Lavoie also put up 5 goals in 5 games at the U18 World Championship. Lavoie uses his body to protect the puck and push through the opposition.

  • My NHL Trade Rumors: Possible NHL Trade Destinations for Leafs Defenseman Zaitsev

The Toronto Maple Leafs have cap issues and are trying to meet the trade request for defenseman Nikita Zaitsev. Taking a closer Look at some potenting landing spots for Zaitsev.

    By Mark Keast, Featurd

If Leafs GM Kyle Dubas is going to make inroads with his cap-strapped hockey team, one of the things he will have to do is address the Nikita Zaitsev issue, possibly at NHL Draft this weekend in Vancouver.

With the cap expected to be in the $82 million range, the Leafs are up against it. With Mitch Marner, fresh off a 94-point season, due a new contract, as well as fellow restricted free agents Kasperi Kapanen and Andreas Johnsson, Dubas has to figure out how to make the money-pie puzzle work.

  • Fansided: Edmonton Oilers Will Not Re-Sign RFA's Tobias Rieder or Ty Rattie

In a move that shouldn't surprise anyone, the Edmonton Oilers will not be reupping two of their free agents, Ty Rattie and Tobias Rieder. This means that both players will hit free agency and try their luck with another team as of July 1st.

Rattie and Rieder both came into the season with the opportunity to earn top 6 ice time along McDavid, Draisaitl, and Nugent Hopkins. Ty Rattie had decent numbers, albeit in a small sample size with McDavid during the 2017/2018 season, going 5-4-9 in 14GP with the Edmonton Oilers.

Rieder meanwhile was a sought after free agent last summer and many pundits around the league were surprised that Reider took a small 2 million dollar one year deal, and the move was overall well received.

  • My NHL Trade Rumors: NHL Rumors: Maple Leafs and P.K. Subban, James Reimer, Jason Zucker, Arizona Coyotes, and Peter Chiarelli

Sportsnet: P.K. Subban's name hit the rumor mill again today and sources have told Elliotte Friedman that the Toronto Maple Leafs have investigated if a Subban trade would make sense.

Both teams have cap issues. A Maple Leafs move is "dependent upon a resolution to Mitch Marner's contract negotiations."

The Vancouver Canucks are also believed to looking into Subban.

    Panthers looking to move Reimer

Pierre LeBrun: The Florida Panthers are still trying to trade goaltender James Reimer.

Reimer has two years left on his contract at a $3.

  • My NHL Trade Rumors: NHL Rumors: Edmonton Oilers Winger Jesse Puljujarvi Looking For A Fresh Start Somewhere Else

Oilers winger Puljujarvi looking to get out of Edmonton

Tommi Seppala: Jesse Puljujarvi's agent Markus Lehto: "It doesn't make sense to go back where we were last season, it's not good for either side. Discussions about parting ways have been going on for weeks already. Jesse needs a fresh start and it's nothing against the Oilers"

Reid Wilkins: Holland to Bob Stauffer on the radio today on Puljujarvi: "I'm not trading anybody because they want to be traded. But if we can find something that works for everybody, I'll look at it.
