The Nets have done well to beat the 76ers and the Suns in their last two outings, however the Nuggets have been red-hot to start the season, especially at home where theyre still a perfect 6-0 with wins over the Warriors, Jazz and Celtics. I think Denver wins this game but Brooklyn does enough to keep it closer than double digits. I'll take the 10 points with Brooklyn tonight and both of these teams rank in top 10 defensively and both are in bottom 1/3 offensively, so the UNDER 212 is worth a look.

The Charlotte Hornets have looked much better in their last 2 games but that's probably more of a function of the level of competition they played. The Philadelphia 76ers play their best ball by far at home and are slowly looking like they're getting more comfortable after a shaky start to the season. I'm just not big on the Hornets and think it's only a matter of time before this improved play comes to an end. I'll lay the reasonable number with the 76ers at home tonight.

Money coming in on NC State, I still think 3 TD win is doable.

Seattle has the NFLs most improved offensive line. It looks like an entirely different unit, especially on the ground, and I expect to see Seattle go run heavy against this Chargers defense today. LA has looked good at times this year and there is every reason to believe it will be a close game, but Seattles offensive line has been terrific, and it should be able to bulldoze enough holes for Chris Carson to secure the win and cover.

The Lions have a balanced offense and emerging running game led by Kerryon Johnson, but they cant stop the run and just traded away their most productive receiver. The Vikings reached the NFC championship game last year and I think they are actually better this year than last year, even though it doesn't show in their record. They have two dangerous receivers, an above-average quarterback and a ferocious pass rush that will be tough for this Detroit Lions team to handle. Minny at home and this spread is only 5? Yes please.

All things considered, this should be a pretty fun matchup. Im going to go with OK State to keep rolling though as they should have plenty of confidence after their big win over Texas last weekend. I see Baylor competing here as they have the offense to put up points against this mediocre Oklahoma State defense. I predict a close game for 2 quarters and then Ok State opens it up in the 2nd Half. 1 TD to cover? Give me Oklahoma State.

I think Kansas got the attention of Iowa State with their upset of TCU, but I wouldn't look too much into that win over the Frogs, because TCU hasn't been good all year and was without their two best players last weekend. Prior to the TCU game, Kansas was blown out by Texas Tech and Iowa State beat Texas Tech by 9 points. Iowa State is feeling it right now and I don't think they let off the gas, I'll lay the points with the Iowa State Cyclones as they should be able to win this one by 3 TD's or more today.

Brad Keller is going for the KC Royals tonight and he has been nails in his last 3 starts, only giving up 4 runs in 22 innings. Keller is better than Musgrove and it's a head scratcher as to why Vegas has Pittsburgh as such a heavy fav in this one.
Kansas City Royals +159 (BET OF THE DAY!)

    My Pick: Kansas City +159

PICK: FLORIDA STATE & OVER 55 - Both defenses have talent, but both offenses are also returning a lot of starters and have plenty of talent to land their share of punches. Florida State is supposedly working with a new playbook on offense and different schemes on defense, so one variable is in how well they adjust to the new playbook. Willie Taggarts Gulf Coast Offense may not fire on all cylinders in the opener, but Francois, Akers and the home field advantage gives this one to the Seminoles.

Florida State 37, Virginia Tech 27

PICK: OAKLAND -134 - After a nice run of six straight quality starts, Leake stumbled a bit in his last outing in Arizona, giving up five earned on seven hits in 6.0 innings for a loss. As for Fiers, hes been pretty darn awesome over his last five starts, surrendering more than one earned just once (two against the Mariners on August 14 in a win). Not in love with the odds on this game, but I'll lean towards laying the juice with Oakland A's.

    My Pick: Oakland -134

***WHITE SOX +178*** Porcello has one quality start in his last four outings. In the other three, hes allowed a combined 15 earned across 16.0 innings. As for Giolito, hes sitting on three straight quality starts, allowing a total of seven earned in 19.0 innings. Boston is obviously in control here, but since the White Sox seem to play well behind Giolito this might not be a bad spot to try and sneak in a Chicago value pick.

    My Pick: Chicago +178

Both Hess and Gaviglio coming off quality starts, giving up only 1 and 2 runs respectively. This total of 9.5 seems high to me. I would lean UNDERS
